New York Manhattan Hotels?! Have You Been To NYC On Holiday?

I am looking for a hotel to retard in New York in October. Can somebody please give me a rating or tell me what you've heard about the following hotels and whether you recommend them or not.
I'm looking for the pompous site of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. I keep searching for it and coming up with Plaza Hotels all over the world, but not the one in New York.

Hey, Me and my roommate are flourishing to New York City for Spring Break in the second week of March. I have a discount card from any ICH hotel dispose so price is not a factor. I have never been to New York before.
So what is the best area or whatever to get a hotel in that's close to everything. I would like to go to Times square, Rockefeller center, and some other places.
So What's the overpower area? Times square? Downtown? Manhattan? Queens?
I don't even know where they are in relation to each other.
I can get any hotels like Recess inn, Holiday inn express, Intercontinental, Crown Plaza, Indigo, Staybridge, or Candlewood
You need Manhattan not Queens. There is a Crowne Plaza in Times Square. There is an Intercontinental on the east side around 48th street. I would do either of those and not any Holiday Inn Intimate or other Holiday Inn other if this is your first time in NYC.
There are in midtown. You can easily get anywhere you want to go in Manhattan from either place....you can walk to Rockefeller center and Middle Park from either. Don't be afraid to use the subway to get other places fast and easy.
