Being A Nanny??
Jun 10, 2006 by isntdivorcefun | Posted in Financial Services
How would I go about declaration a job as a nanny in manhattan KS??? Besides the newspaper? Thanks in advance.
I would go to 4nannies.com online. To me it is the A- site as far as choosing what you will and will not do and locations that work for you. I am currently a nanny in Maryland due to this site. Another helpful way is to liber veritatis your resume with multiple sites so you get the most options. Good luck.
I'm 19 years old with only 6 months of paid nanny wisdom. I recently advertised on craigslist manhattan, ny as a liv-in nanny. I got a response from the secretary of a high net worth man asking if I would be interested in being nanny to his 3 year old daughter as well as household foreman for all of his employees (driver, chef, housekeeper). Soon after a few emails, his secretary got my number and had the man call me.
I was right away extremely intimidated by him. He expressed the need to "ok" my everyday wardrobe, individual outings, and even what shows I would watch in the privacy of my own bedroom. He even asked how I would feel about being grounded? When I asked about vacation hour, he said he would prefer I take the private jet when going home to visit my family! He was offering 50-60,000 dollars a year, or at least $1,000 a week.
After hearing all of his demands, I hung up and declined the job through his secretary. My sister thinks it was all a big prank! After all, what exuberant net worth man would employ a 19 year old as their household manager and find their help on craigslist.
I design the whole process seemed, although insanely demanding, completely serious. The man never once laughed on the phone, although I may have when he asked me about being grounded.
The chat ended normally with him promising to keep in touch and that if I had any questions, to email his secretary. I hung up politely and then declined through email, which was yahoo.
I even-handedly would never feel comfortable working for someone who might ground me for watching a PG movie or accidently saying something that offended him, which is why I turned it down.
OMG this sounds like one of those online rapist!!!! lol proper be careful that was really extream, come on he has to monitor what u do everyday , werid n freaky if u ask me as well that if he was the president of the us id take up the step but just random guy nty, i wouldnt do it most likely it was a prank or he was trying to get women to come to his diet and abuse them, scary either way report it on craigslist and just move on, be happy that u didnt go and nothing bad happened to you ^.^
