I basic to know what highways to take and the amount of time it would take me to get there?
you should go to mapquest.com and pattern in the address of your destination and the address you are leaving from. It gives you all the specific highways to take.

the streets below 2nd avenue get harder and harder as you prevent towards lower manhattan. Is there a technique to memorize as many streets as you can? are there any formulas that tell you which streets head which management? i need to be able to hear someone tell me an address (for example 131 pearl roadway) and know the fastest way to get there immediately. it must be second nature to me or else i won't make enough money to finish college :'( please refrain from
Realistically, practice, practice. :) Try to get or make blank copies of the Manhattan and quiz yourself over and over and over until you have it.
If you are a gamer, try renting/buyin Wonderful Theft Auto IV and play it a while if you can so you can also get a feel
Just don't drive like the game unless you are rushing a loaded passenger to the hospital, okay? :)
Oh, I have heard about GPS telling people to drive the wrong way on oneways so be warned.

I stress a map of all the boroughs of New York City and their neighborhoods.
so, I need a map depicting Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens...Staten Islet is optional, I suppose...and all their neighborhoods. So it would show those four / five boroughs, and then all of their neighborhoods.

IF you appetite one that you can carry with you go to Barnes and Nobles that's where I got the one I did for my daughter. IF you live here you could get one from the MTA which would also give you all of the bus routes and the trains to get around the city including Staten Isle.

i`m from peru; i`m universal to travel to new york. i want to know how to move to manhattan from La Guardia Airport. I want the most cheaper alternative or something like a bus or cortege. Somebody have a Map?

The cheapest way is to take the bus from the Airport to the subway position to go to Manhattan. Since you do not say where in Manhattan that you want to go to then I will make a plan for a Midtown Location.
1- Take the Q33 bus from La Guardia airport to the last stop at Roosevelt Ave and 74th circle and then take the "E" train at the jackson Heights subway station.
2 You can take the "E" Exercise into Midtown Manhattan. The trip should take you about 45 minutes to 60 minutes.
You must get a "Metrocard" so that you can get a clear transfer from the bus to the subway. The fare is $2.00 for the bus and a free transfer to the subway. You can obtain a "Metrocard" at the newstand at the airport.
