I'm looking for something minute and intimate and not one of those oversized places to see and be seen kind of restaurants, just a small carnal restaurant where I can get some great sushi.
Please don't say Nobu, Nobu next door or Ruby Fu's.
mizu 20th between commons and madison. very very good sushi, fresh, and the prices aren't that bad. great atmosphere. not your ordinary sushi joint.

What's the face crunchy part of a Manhattan Sushi Roll? It's just fried seaweed, correct?
This depends on the precise sushi restaurant, they all differ. Personally, I have never heard of a Manhattan roll! Just ask the restaurant, they will tell you what's in it.

I'm looking for the best clothes "sit at the bar and let the sushi chef feed you whatever he thinks you should be eating" experience. Thanks!
Sushi Yasuda is the richest.
Located on 43 Street just off Third Avenue. You will need reservations because it is popular. 212 972-1001. Importantly rated by Zagats. I have been going there since it opened.
Ask to sit near Yasuda, the owner. He will take good solicitude of you!
