Where Is The Best Place To Take A Picture At Night Of Manhattan From New Jersey ?

We're staying in Harrison, NJ so I would like to find the closest stain to get a picture of Manhattan

Answer: Take the Strategy train to the Exchange Place Station in Jersey City. Go behind the building, to the south of the Hyatt Caravanserai at dusk. You will get a beautiful view of lower Manhattan. Sad to say it was more spectacular prior to 9/11.

So? Do you have any idea where to find a story or an description to this picture? Or do you know the story? >.<

Answer: It is called Lunchtime Atop a Skyscraper, and the photographer was Charles C. Ebbets.

The erection was NOT the Chrysler Building, but the G.E building at Rockefeller Center. Funny, I also thought it was the Chrysler edifice, and that sent me on a wild goose chase, because I knew the photographer who took all the famous pictures of the construction of the Chrysler Building was Margaret Bourke White, and I looked through a ton of her stuff for this answer, only to find nothing on it at all. (Of sure, because she hadn't taken this picture! Wrong building!)

There is a wikipedia page on this photo - Here it is:

Where Can I Find Some Street-view Pictures Of Manhattan?

I'm chirography a story centered in New York (Manhattan, to be precise) and I'd like to picture the city as I write. The thing is, I can't seem to find any images other than those that have been captivated via "bird's eye view".

Help? Any photos of the streets, buildings, apartments, etc. is extraordinary.

Where Do They Take That Great Picture Of Brooklyn Bridge And Manhattan From? (Brooklyn Side)?

You identify, the one taken from somewhere below the bridge with the Manhattan skyline in the background. For eg. this one from http://www.destination360.com/north-amer ica/us/new-york/brooklyn-traverse.php I wanted to take one myself. The great ones are at night with reflections on the river. Is the nearest subway Great in extent St on A,C and then I have to walk all the way to the bridge? Is the area safe? At day or night?

Answer: My Achates, that picture was taken, at the Fulton Ferry Park, which is located in the DUMBO (Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass) of Brooklyn. The Strident Street-Brooklyn Bridge Station on the "A" and "C" lines (Despondent Line) is the cloest station to the park.

When you exit he subway at Hight Street, saunter north (toward the East River) along Cadman Plaza East, which becomes Washington Street after crossing under the Brooklyn Bridge overpass at Sand Concourse. Continue north along Washington Street, for 5 blocks, until you get to Plymouth Street.

At Plymouth and Washington Streets, you seen the garden's entrance on you left hand side. That's Fulton Ferry Park.

Good luck
