What Area's Or Neighborhoods In Manhattan Are Not The Best To Buy Or Invest In?
May 16, 2008 by JCMOM00 | Posted in Renting & Real Estate
I am looking to instate / buy in Manhattan. I am curious to know the opinions of others pertaining to this question. NYC has so many new developments and luxury buildings being builded everywhere. What are areas/neighborhoods to elude? Ex. too much traffic, tourist, too loud, busy, commercial area etc;
There is no "bad" space to buy in NYC. Some areas are a bit cheaper than others, but demand is high and supply is short everywhere. It all comes down to what you need to be assiduous to. If you need to live near the 3 train, then you buy a place on or near the 3 line. If you prefer living in Tribeca, then you buy in Tribeca. It's all a concern of preference.
If you are investing, make sure the building allows you to rent the unit out. Depending on the erection, your costs may be more than the rent you will be able to get.
Tax abatements abound in NYC, but maintenance can be anywhere from several hundred to tens of thousands of dollars a month.
If you have cramped to a million to spare, go for it.
P.S. Board approval is only for co-ops. It does not apply to condos or townhouses (brownstones).

Im planning on visiting NY originally next year for some possible career opportunities and may have to relocate. What are some popular neighborhoods for the young and single? P.S. I have a big dog too!
If you are callow and single, you may not afford rent in some nice area( $2K to $3k for one bed room). So I suggest Greenwich Vallage and Chelsea are crush parts for you.

so ive seen a pair of question like this but i have never been in new york and i wanted to know if anyone knows of some safe cities/neighborhoods that have a thoughtful night life and approximately how much rent would be.
p.s. ive looked at some places like chelsea and soho, but please discern me if you know of other cities that are close to borough of manhattan community college and how the rent goes.
BMCC is in reality in Tribeca. Closer parts are Battery Park, and Greenwich Village. I don't know how much slash goes for.

Of path this is just a general list, and varies greatly depending on the type of property you're looking at. Undeniable the amenities of the building among other factors would influence the price as well.
