Which got me wondering. If I were to plan the biggest, baddest economic downturn holiday party yet, what would I do? Si & Co., herewith, find my humble memo:

1. Entertainment. Forget about bands, speakers, djs, or those tedious PowerPoint presentations…hire a grinch. After a few cocktails, once revelers are sufficiently lubricated, have grinch pink-get in those you’d been planning to let go after the new year. Might as well do it now, when it will reflect on the creepy green dude rather than you. In a gesture of goodwill, have grinch give ex-employees a hem in from the truckload of swill-passing-as-swag the ad team received last month. Later in the evening, current grinch to man iPod so you don’t have to.
