Are you old or juvenile? Is this already a transitional period in your life - in other words, got nothing to lose anyway? If so, I would say go for it, but if not, plan ahead and take your time!
Is A Quality Social Life Possible In Manhattan For Workers In Advertising And Public Relations?
Jul 18, 2007 by Demi | Posted in Other - Advertising & Marketing
I am making allowance for starting a career in advertising or public relations. For anyone who has insight into these careers and who is working in Manhattan, can you lecture me how much free time I can expect? I'd like to earn at least around $60k/yr and I'd like to have most evenings and weekends extricate.
Is this possible? If you are in Manhattan and in these professions, what is your life like outside of work? Do you get to hang out with friends for a drink after vocation or to go to the gym, see movies, theater and in general just get to enjoy the fact that you live in New York Big apple?
Well, as someone who began their employment as a Junior Writer in NYC, I can tell you this: You will work your ass off.
Assuming you work at an ad agency in a creative aptitude, you will work long hours and lots of weekends. You'll have to. Not only because it's expected of you but because everyone else does it, too. (I once worked for 28 days directly, aka April 1996.)
Though it's been a while since those days, I do know the ad industry in NYC hasn't changed at all. Also, a starting salary in the $60k/yr latitude is pretty ambitious. (Last I checked salaries for Junior-level creatives was about $45-50k/yr, and that won't buy that many drinks.)
Again, though, that was the occurrence my ad friends and I had. Some of which were Junior Account Executives.

You can buy anything and eat anything from anywhere. There are more museums, parks, beaches, clubs, boutiques, shoe stores, talking picture theatres, musical and dramatic theatre venues than anywhere else in the world. Have fun, that's why we live here.
What Is Daily Life Like For A Teenager In Manhattan?
Dec 02, 2009 by Dreaming Wide Awake. | Posted in New York City
I'm criticism a narrative that centers on the lives of three middle to upper-class teenagers who live in Manhattan. I've visited New York See plenty of times and I love it, but being born and raised in California, I really have no idea what life is like every day.
Anyone have any input (preferably that of a Manhattan intrinsic between the ages of fourteen and eighteen)? I know this is kind of a vague question, but please try to help?
Recognition you ;D
Whats Better Life In Manhattan Or Los Angelos?

What are the guys like? Pros/Cons? The Differnce? Would I fit in?
It depends on which hold you're coming from.
L.A. and the areas around it are laid back, but there
are some areas that aren't safe. Crime does betide, even where you wouldn't expect it.
The guys are just like all other guys. There are stoners, metal heads, jocks, surfers, bros, punks, etc.
L.A. is for the most part, hot, there are some lukewarm days, but they rarely come ny. The city is covered by a layer of smog, due to the heavy corruption and L.A. Basin, so the smog doesn't get out.
New York is apparently the opposite(?) always cold, from what I've seen and heard.
