Mar 18, 2009 by TFSI | Posted in New York City
I am visiting Manhattan, NY for the first period but would also need to visit a friend in New Rochelle also in NY. Is there any cheaper means of commuting between these two cities? I would conscious of very much if any of you folks could help me in this adventure, what train or bus to pick from Manhattan to New Rochelle Metro bus station North Ave. ground?
Thanks for your help.
I feel Metro North will take you right from Grand Central on 42st. to North Av. station in New Rochelle. Look up Metro North assign just to make sure.
Best Part Of Brooklyn(not Very Expensive, easy And Fast Connection To Manhattan, nightlife, safe)?

I'm compelling to ny at the end of the month and the best hood seems brooklyn because manhattan is so expensive.Which is the best part to live in considering that i am a 29 year old solitary select straight male and considering the above criteria, thank you!
Williamsburg is the hippest neighborhood in Brooklyn, but the tariff of rents is climbing fast (please note: don't move to East Williamsburg, or Bushwick for that matter). You can also look in Expectation Park or Greenpoint.
If Queens is not out of the question, Astoria is a great neighborhood for young professionals, and it's upright as close to midtown as Brooklyn is to downtown. Woodside, Queens is another safe, close neighborhood.
If you're not adept to spend about $900/month on rent, nothing within 15 minutes of Manhattan will be touchable in most cases.
Have You Ever Had A Strange Connection To A Place?

I have this uncanny connection/feeling to Manhattan, mainly Central Park. There is something so familiar and comforting about that place, even though I've been there maybe 15 times in my viability. I can't put my finger on it, what could it be?
Also, I have a recurring dream that takes place here too. I am a bit older, with a little bit longer trifle, I am stepping out of an apartment building onto a city street across from a park, I take a deep breath and look around (it is autumn) and that's it. Peculiar, huh?
It could have to do with a quondam life - if you believe in them.
Is There Any Plan To Operate A Subway From Manhattan To Staten Island?
May 11, 2009 by ultraseijin | Posted in New York City
I am looking to rank real estate and obviously a direct connection other than the boat from manhattan to staten island would help
Since at least the 1920s there has been talk about connecting the Staten Archipelago train with the New York City subway system via a new tunnel under the Narrows. The R line would have been the connecting instant. Some preliminary digging was even done before World War II, but was rapidly abandoned. The proposal comes up again from time to era, but due to the enormous expense, it's unlikely to be built during our lifetimes.
