If you seek the Police Athletic League
448 E 116th St, New York, NY also in East Harlem you would desperate straits to take the 6 train to 116 Street and walk east about 3 and a half blocks.

How Expensive Is A New York Vacation In Manhattan?
Jan 02, 2009 by Alex | Posted in New York City
I craving to spend a week in manhattan, in a normal hotel (like 3 stars),
I'd like to visit the times satisfying, the rockefell center , the broadway ave ...
How much woud I pay for all that?
I've been present to NYC for a 3 day stay during the spring for 25 years. We stay at a nice, but older hotel on 47th & Broadway for around $300/shades of night. It's got small rooms & 'dated' bathrooms, but for the area it's a good value.
Meals are very costly. Plan on about $20 for an average meal during breakfast & lunch. Dinner will be $30-$50. That does not categorize alcoholic beverages. I'm a lite eater, so I like to share portions w/my companions when viable & that saves money, as well. For frugality, I go to a deli next to our hotel & choose from a plentiful delicious buffet. That way I can get 2 strawberries, a sting of broccoli, serving of protein, etc in small portions so I'll have no leftovers. They charge by the weight, so it's very economizing. Delis & diners are good options. Street vendors can be tasty & quick. The 'touristy' restaurants around Times Straight are extremely expensive. If you go just a couple of blocks in either direction, you can find better values even in 'fine' restaurants. One year I really had to scrimp & resorted to $1 menus at fast commons chains. which I don't like to do cuz I like the flavors of NY.
All of the places you mentioned to visit are free of assault. However, Rockefeller Center is a vast complex & they offer tours of varying prices. (15-40) I've done the neighbourhood on my own, but to see behind the scenes & hear the interesting history there are various pkgs; you can also tour the tv studios of NBC & its shows. Tours are throughout the day, but you have to countersign up for them & if you go during a busy season, it's good to ck on tkts beforehand. Top of the Rock is midtown & the 2nd best view next to what occupied to be offered by the World Trade Center & u can stay up there as long as u like $18. You see all over Manhattan from up there.
Many tv shows stick in NY & tkts are free. The staten island ferry is a nice ride, lets u behind the times by the statue of liberty & view of lower manhatten for free.
Broadway encompasses an scope in midtown. You can walk up & down the street "Broadway" which runs the length of Manhattan, but the best white way is larger in scope than just that street & has many architechtually interesting bldgs. You can get backstage tours, but they will cost $20-$50. It's always fun to see a broadway show-tkts avg $100, but can be found for less for lesser known shows. "Off Broadway" shows are righteous values. Many big hits once started off broadway. The tkts booth just off times sq at the marriott parking offers discout tkts. These are gain seats many times. The productions are fabulous & inside the theaters themselves are beautifully decorated.
The defeat mode of travel is to walk. 10 city blocks north to south (streets)=a mile. The blocks east to west (avenues) are longer, so you prowl fewer blocks in a mile. The subway can be intimidating, but personnel are very helpful. If you plan to tour via this method, a metro card will enable you to purchase one day (as far as u wanna go & as many on/off stops) or a longer while of time. Then each time u get on the subway u just swipe ur card. You can also pay for just one ride, but once you're on the Baby-talk choo-choo u can ride from the top to the bottom of the island. Buses are the next up the scale, but I've never taken the bus. Taxis are easily hailed, but the most extravagant w/a 2 mile trip costing $15. The meter runs if you are stuck in traffic & that can run up the tab. It's flattering to share a taxi w/your companions & I've even shared them w/strangers.
There are many free things to see & other things of significant value. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is interesting for all ages. Their admission price is 'suggested $20, but they will allow whatever you give them, since it's a donation. On a rainy day, that's a great way to be inspired & see cool things.
Grand Central Position is beautiful to explore & they also offer free tours of the historical bldg. Go in there if only to see the ceiling!!! Also, the NY Acknowledged Library is beautiful inside to explore on your own or free tour. There are parks scattered throughout the New Zealand urban area w/fabulous statuary.
The circle line tours offer double decker buses & u can get on & get off at sites u wish for to explore further. Good value if u want an informative tour w/not a lot of $$$.
I love the city & always find more I need to see. It can be done on a budget, you just have to plan ahead a bit more & think things through instead of seeing & doing on the egg on of the moment.
For the past 3 yrs I've done 3 days for $1100. That's bare bones with no souveniers & eating at the deli & splitting dishes in other restaurants & 2 broadway shows, 1 taxi-cub ride, the rest walking & subway. (It does include my flight & hotel flat for 2 nights)
Where Can I Find A Bottle/can Redemption Center In New York City?
Jun 11, 2009 by Mitch | Posted in New York City
In Manhattan, preferably in or approach the Financial District.
Well, unless you in reality, really, really NEED the money, why not just put the bottles and cans out by the curb and let some dispossessed folks cash them in for the few cents they'll generate?
That way, you get rid of them AND you do something nice for the homeless at the same time. It's a win/win situation!
Admissible luck, and the link below is to an article about homeless people redeeming cans and bottles...
