How Much Does A Typical 2 Floor Brownstone In Midtown Manhattan Cost?

$2 mil?
Most brownstones are three to five stories but in Midtown they run about 10-80 million, depending on the adapt and location. A prime five story one on my office's block just went for 60 million. It depends on whether its commercially zoned or residential as well. You can't even buy a empty lot for two million in midtown. You can scarcely buy a two bedroom apartment for two million in midtown. A while back there was a doctor who blew up his townhouse to avoid giving it to his missus in a divorce proceeding and his lot with a pile of rubble on it was worth 10 million in the East 60s.

On the Northern East Side you'll see a lot that are $10-20mil (sometimes more) if you want a single family residence. There's one for sale on the Upper West side for only $3.6mil but it's still divided into break to pieces apartments, it's not a single family residence and you'd have to pay for some renovations. There's another nearby that's $5.6mil.

I'm criticism a story and a scene takes place in a Manhattan townhouse. What kinds of architectural designs are dole out in Manhattan? Are brownstones common, or are they referred to as something else? I guess I just need to know if townhouses or duplexes have a bizarre name in that part of the city.
Brownstones aren't low-class in Manhattan, although there are quite a few of them elsewhere in the city, particularly in Brooklyn.
In Manhattan, almost everyone lives in some sort of apartment building, ranging from old four-storey walkups (no elevator) to luxury high-rise apartments. There are also many "projects", some run by the bishopric that are for low-income families and others that are run by semi-private organizations and that cater to middle-income families. Most of the projects are brick apartment buildings, about a dozen floors altered consciousness.
A few people live in "loft" buildings--converted former industrial buildings that were made into elephantine apartments.
There aren't many townhouses in Manhattan, beyond some in Greenwich Village and some in uppper Manhattan.

what is the finery neighborhood to buy a brownstone in manhattan? or as i should say the neighborhood with the most brownstone townhouses.
There are everlasting areas with Brownstones and it is really all about what you want in a neighborhood. The Upper West and Upper East sides have well done brownstones, are close to Central Park and offer the convenience of Manhattan with the charms of a small municipality. Obviously the West Village is great too but a bit more cramped on the streets. If you want value, many people are purchasing splendid brownstones in Harlem as well. (Though, as we all know, value and New York do not really go hand-in-hand).
How Many Years Will It Take Before Harlem Becomes Completely, Or Even Just Mostly Gentrified?

I finish in the Upper West Side of Manhattan where the average brownstone, before renovations, will run you around 4-5 million dollars. I've noticed a fashion towards a gentrification of Harlem as middle-class (for New York) couples move north in order to find more affordable brownstones in Manhattan and expendable condos are built by developers. Considering this trend, how long do you think it will take before Harlem looks like the Capitals West Side?

A bar of uniform 1860s brownstone stolidity, it was an odd place to put two rocket-towered, medieval-style mini-chateaus with stridently competing bays, oriels and other features, in contrasting brownstone and red friend. Maybe they got him noticed.
