Authentic Italian Restaurant/bistro In Manhattan For One Person? |
im 19 dressed indifferent, and I don't want to go to anywhere fancy and where u have to wear a tie..where could I eat great "authentic" italian commons without having to sit in the middle of a diner? NO CARMINES
End up on people, Little Italy? That place is nothing but Chinese restaurants and red sauce tourist traps - don't go there.
Try this wrong Dell'Annima instead - it's in the West Village which is a cool neighborhood with lots of unfledged people. It's not as crazy packed or overpriced as Batali's restaurants either and there's lots of bar space and an unclinched kitchen - so it's easy to get a seat and good for solo diners. They recently opened so it's under the radar but the gathering has been good and I've been there at least three times in the past two months - absolutely delicious. Get the Bolognese or Chicken Diavolo.
