I have been checking out apts in Manhattan and find sayings like " Gains requirements: 45 x rent single or combined for tenants." What does this lowly exactly?
If they are autocratic about income requirements, then they are saying they want your income to be 45 times what the montly hire is.
Lets say the rent is 2000 a month, they want your income to be 90k. If you get a roommate, thats 45k each. I entertain the idea that sounds a little high to me, most places just say your monthly rent should not exceed 40% your monthly profits. If your credit is good, or if you can get another co-signer , it may not matter either way. i remember once I got approved for a 1600$ a month see on just 40k income. So it really varries from place to place.
If I Get A 1 BR Apt In Manhattan, How Much Utilities I Have To Pay?
Jul 23, 2008 by randy.smith16 | Posted in Renting & Real Estate
What are the name of the places I can call to have my utilities turned on. The only state I heard of is Con Edison Electric & Gas but how much is water, cable/internet, heat/AC, phone, gas, stimulating, etc. Please help.
When you find an apt. verify with the super. Heat & Water are included in rent. Con Ed provides the electric and gas for cooking. A buzz, cable and internet is what ever company you wish to deal with. AC you buy and install if the building code permits one.

Can Anybody Who Rents An Apt In Manhattan That Share Bathrooms, Tell Me About How That Works? ?

How arduously is it to share a bathroom? Is there a timesheet in the morning? What if you have to take a dump badly and someone's in there?
What class of living situation do you mean? A room mate or a rooming house?
If you're with a room bride, you should speak to him/her about your schedules so they don't conflict. Hopefully, your schedules are slightly different so you won't need to deluge at the same time when getting ready for work and/or school. I've had 3 room mates in the past.
If you're in a rooming house, it's first rebuke/first serve. My ex BF used to live in one and that's how it worked.
