What Is The Best Site And/or Search Agent To Find A Manhattan Apartment Under 1350?
Mar 17, 2007 by starspotlight1985 | Posted in New York City
I am mobile to Manhattan at the end of the summer and looking at apartments. I know I can't seriously look until a month or less before the move. I have searched Craigslist. Are there any other sites that I could search? Thanks!
Manhattan for under 1350? You dont miss to live in a nice apartment or a nice neighborhood do you? That really is a serious answer too. If you want the most bang for your buck, charges out apartments in the park slope section of brooklyn. You'll get alot more space and cheaper rents, along with a change one's mind neighborhood for what you'll pay for a shoebox in Manhattan. And its a short commute to Anywhere in Manhattan.
Moving To Manhattan End Of May. When Should I Start Looking For An Apartment?
Mar 14, 2009 by Zapp Brannigan | Posted in New York City
I'm going to Manhattan the last week of May. I was planning on visiting the NYC in the second week of May to search for apartments. If I use a broker, is two weeks enough on occasion in between searching for an apartment and moving in? I've heard that anything over a month ahead of moving in is too soon because most apartments in NYC won't even be on the call then. However, is two weeks before move in cutting it too close?
I would search now and I would not pay more than one month's intermediary fee if that is what you need... and $15 to 30 bucks for a credit check , if not you need to pay 4 months slash or so to get a place...
I suggest getting a 35 a night bed in a hostel while you search or if you have more ...pay 120 a round-the-clock for a room private for you...
I would search now.. go on craigslist and check out SHARES and SUBLETS.. dont sent scratch upfront... and if you come to visit MAKE A CONTRACT, dont ever pay cash.. esteemed lucj
If you like some help.. email me, I can help you out when I know your budget, etc...
How Can I Found An Apartment To Rent In Manhattan Without Paying A Broker Fee?
Jun 07, 2007 by Mike W | Posted in Renting & Real Estate
When I search on craigslist it seems to be that everyone is a go-between or trying to charge a fee.
If you already real in the City (or real close) you've got a chance...if your relocating from outside the area...I got be honest...it's a big shot. It's hard EVEN W/ A BROKER!!!
If you're in the City...you gotta network like crazy...ask everyone you differentiate, put your own ad on CL, put posters up in coffee shops, pizza places, etc. Also look in places other the CL...try the Voice, the Pier, the Times, the Daily News...
If you're relocating you may want to consider a roommate situation (where they already have the apartment) until you get settled and can find your own obligation.
Lastly don't be afraid to work w/ a broker...ask questions...look at some rentals...learn what you can. Some brokers will deduct for a bit of negotiation regarding their fees... this will only work if you make good money (150+K) ...have a putrescent rental history and impeccable credit...in other words...if you don't need a broker.
It's worth every bit of trouble you will put into it...NYC's the place to be!! Happy Hunting!!
I am only 17, I won't be stirring soon, but I would love to live in an apartment in NY. Does anyone know any sites where they have listings for apartments in either NY/NY, Manhattan, or Greenwich Village. Thanks A Lot!!!!!!
Probe the Village Voice, Craig's List, and other local NYC neighborhood sources.
