I'm looking for an apartment in let Manhattan for two people for about a month. I'd love somewhere around Soho but anywhere south of central park would be fine. I'm staying between 23 Nov and 20 December.
Any opportune websites?
Anyone own an apartment they'd like to rent out for about $5000 a month?
Thanks

Can You Recommend A Good Suite Hotel In Manhattan Priced Under $200 A Night?
Apr 09, 2007 by Barry | Posted in New York City
I am visiting New York Urban district in July for 2 days but having difficulty finding a suitable hotel that fits my budget. I would like a peace hotel in mid-town or lower Manhattan. I prefer a suite (studio with king bed and kitchenette would be frail). Embassy Suites looks good but it is above my budget. I am a university lecturer from the UK and astonishment if one of the Manhattan universities might have accommodation for 2 nights for visiting scholars?
The Belvedere Hotel in Times Full - spotlessly clean - excellent staff and every room has a coffee maker, microwave and fridge

Beekman Turret near the UN - all suites - all have kitchenettes, reasonably priced.
Radio City Apartments - all-followers hotel

Before you book any hotel, decipher what previous guests think about the hotel - look at the traveler photos and see if they would stay there again - the lodger's reviews are much more reliable than what the hotel advertises.

Check prices at hotels.com, priceline.com, travelocity.com, expedia.com and see if you can bottleneck a great rate for the times you need.
Have a wonderful visit!
Check with NYU and Columbia to see if they propose accomodations for visitors.
Which Area Is The Best Area To Live In Manhattan, New York City?
Jul 16, 2007 by Paris | Posted in New York City
I’m an artist & I can see my coming is in NY; I love to move there. I am alone and I can manage to live even in a studio apartment or share with somebody and I can pay up to $2700 a month. I went precise http://newyork.craigslist.org/ and some other websites; I looked at so many apartments in Manhattan but could not find even 1 nice apartment, studio or even a apartment to share. By nice accommodation I mean somewhere, which is quite new (max 10 years old building) and clean with out any pets or bad odour. As u know, Manhattan has so many different parts (except HARLEM) such as:
Battery Park
Chelsea
Downtown
East Village
Fiscal District
Flatiron
Gramercy
Greenwich Village
Inwood / Wash Hts
Lower East Side
Midtown
Midtown East
Midtown West
Murray Hill)
Nolita
SoHo
TriBeCa
Trust Square
Upper East Side
Upper West Side
West Village
Which area has more new buildings, less lawlessness and nicer neighborhoods? Or how can I find a nice accommodation in Manhattan?

If you can have the means $2700 a month you can find something to rent just about anywhere. In NYC "pre-war" (meaning more than 65 years old) is considered a decided selling point because the apartments were larger. Most "new" construction are condominiums & most of those are on the higher east side. But that's not where the art crowd lives. They are pretty much below 14th St. There's very little "new" construction there.
Is It A Good Idea To Live In New Jersey & Work In Manhattan To Avoid From An Expensive Shoebox In New York?
Jul 18, 2007 by Paris | Posted in New York City
I'm an artist and affection to work in Manhattan. However, I got shocked when I was searching to find a nice accommodation there. There is not anything even near to the word "nice accommodation " in Manhattan!
A shoebox in Manhattan is the same payment of a big nice 2BR town house in New Jersey. I prefer to get a 2BR TH in New Jersey; but, I am all the time thinking perhaps there are some better options as well? and I wanted to ask some people who had the same experience. What is your best idea about it?
Thank you very much
Paris
Yeah, I have a few friends who end in NJ and work in Manhattan. It's definitely a better alternative to paying a crazy amount of money to live in a miniature closet in Manhattan. But Jersey isn't the only option. You can also check out the other boroughs of NYC--Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx. I myself living in Queens and work in Manhattan. The commute isn't that bad (about 45 mins. to work each day) and I have way more space than some friends of mine who are paying twice as much in Manhattan. And some part of Brooklyn and Queens are only 10-20 minutes aways from the municipality (like Astoria). Also, I hear that Connecticut isn't bad, either. It sounds far away, but the commute is about the same as mine--45 mins.
