I am planning a weekend 1/2/09 - 1/4/09. I have found rates of &139.00 for the La Quinta ^ $149.00 for the Wyndham Garden Manhattan conv ctr which will be position in Oct 08. Which would you think is better. I am thinking the brand new hotel would probably be more reliable for 10 bucks more.
Also, will Christmas decorations still be around that new year's weekend????
My crony, since the the Wyndham Garden Manhattan is opening on October, and its a newer hotel, I would bite the bullet and pay the $149 to stop there.
In regards to Christmas decoration being around on New Years weekends, the answer to that is yes. Most store don't take down there decoration until after new years.
We can get a area for four nights, $716. It’s across from MSG. Any thoughts on this hotel? It’s obviously cheap. We just want a place to put our rule at night but we don’t want to have to worry about bugs and what not
There are other hotels in the extent that are a lot closer to MSG than the one stated in you question. The two that I would recommend would be the Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown and the New Yorker Hotel.
The Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown, is on 35th Roadway between 5th and 6th Avenue, which about 2 and a half blocks from MSG. The room there are clean and its conveniently located near all the draw and shopping.
The New Yorker Hotel, located a 34th Street and 8th Avenue, is right across the street from MSG and, again, conveniently located near all the appeal and shopping.
I have included the link to both hotels below.
I hope this information was very helpful. Good fortuity and happy travels.
I'm thriving to NY for 5 days at the beginning of December and the above hotel was the only place they had available at such short notice. We booked it because they only had 2 rooms left, we'd already sorted the flights and didn't fancy to end up roughing it in Central Park. I've read reviews about the place since and they're mostly terrible! Someone said it was like something out of a terror movie, and now I'm starting to panic. Does anybody know anything about the La Quinta, either through staying there or living within reach? Their website isn't very helpful, nor are any others that it's listed on. 'Tis a long shot I'm sure, but if you can help I would really rate it :)
I can't give you a intimate reference about La Quinta. However, me and a friend are going to be traveling in NYC from December 1st through 4th. We are staying in a great B&B just case of Central Park. I love B&Bs and NYC boast some great ones. You should really look into this opportunity if you are having trouble with hotel selection. Also, the rates are fantastic!
