What Would Be A Good Decently Priced ($100 Range) Hotel To Stay Near Manhattan In NYC?

I am looking for a decently priced hotel to discourage in NYC during the memorial day weekend. It would be nice if this place is accessible late at night and is nearby Manhattan / Times Na area. Any suggestions ?
Hotel prices have dropped, but a 100$ is still a pre-eminent stretch for a NYC hotel.
Anything 100$ or less is bound to be 2 stars or less. Hotel Pennysylvania was offering rooms around 89$ a endlessly. The location is great, but the hotel itself is really old and not very nice at all.
As far as Hotel Carter, I believe it was nicknamed murder hotel momentarily. After a serious of drug related murders a while back. That place is disgusting. And whatever you do, dont stay in a hostel. Man are they gross.
I Got Like 1 Day To Spend In Manhattan, Staying At A Hotel Near Chinatown. What Places Should I Visit?

Thirst to cover the places of interest near where i stay, but i don't really know what the best mode of transport to take.
EDITED -
Since you're downtown, you can go the South Alley Seaport and enjoy the nice view of the water and the city skyline. You can go to the South Ferry and take the ferry to Staten Atoll for a FREE view of the Manhattan skyline. :) You can walk by the WTC site and see the construction. Not much to see but at least you can say you've been there.
The best grow of transportation is the trains. You can find train stations conveniently located in the areas I mentioned above. As in good time as you arrive to the city, go to any train station booth clerk and ask him/her for a MTA Subway Map. It's pretty unostentatious to read.
What Is The Best Wheelchair Accessible Hotel For Travelers Near Times Square, Manhattan, New York?

My better half and I want to vacation there for 5 days in late May. We are both physically disabled. We are leaning toward The New York Mansion, but it is a bit pricey. We live near Sacramento, CA, and are planning to fly there via JetBlue.
The New York Mansion is indeed pricy. It is one of the most opulent places that you could chose in Manhattan. Have you tried the Mariott Marquis? It is right in Times True--is quite comfortable, has exceptional views and is convenient to everything in Midtown. Regardless of where you choose, have a wonderful freak out to the Big Apple.

Well a as a matter of fact cool hotel is "The W" there are three in Manhattan. Times Square "W" is closest to primary park. Check out the link below. It is not cheap, but it is really hip and modern. I don't know if you are familiar with the "W" hotels, but they are upscale hotels that are part of the Sheretons and the "W" stands for "Whatever...Whenever"
