Please slate the most affordable bourghs to live in that are close to canal st. in manhattan.
Williamsburg or one of the abutting areas is probably the way to go. If you want something a little further out, you can try the kensington area, which is nice, but relatively skinflinty as well. Plus, it's right by prospect park.

What's The Best Way To Get From New York JFK Airport To Financial District In Manhattan?
Dec 11, 2007 by Tom F | Posted in New York City
I am customary to New York at the weekend but as I have not booked a package deal I don't get transfers to the hotel. Just wondering if anyone can foresee me the quickest/easiest/cheapest way to get from JFK airport to Wall Street?
I'll be arriving at 9:30pm townsperson time if that makes any difference.
I always use a cab.
It's a set victuals (I think $45) from JFK to anywhere in Manhattan so you won't get stung if the traffic is lousy.
If I'm Driving From The Financial District In Manhattan, Would A Commute To The Newark Airport Be Feasable?

I indigence to be to work each day about 06:30 a.m. and would be coming home around the same time in the p.m. Are there park and ride options?
Not reliable why you would want to drive from New York to Newark. You should check out Trip123's transit blunder planner as it plans a trip from any origin address to a destination address in the NYC metro field with arrival and "leave" times.
I put in the WORLD TRADE CENTER and Newark Airport and got a Complete Trip Time of 51 minutes. The trip used the PATH and New Jersey Pass Bus 62.
If you do drive, at best it takes a half hour each way and it is hard to say how long it will take at worst plus you have to pay for car advance / lease, parking, insurance, gas, etc.
To find your best route use the trip planner with any origin and stopping-place address in the metropolitan area and by day and time that you want to travel.

That's all a give someone the third degree of your age and interests.
The most expensive area is on the Upper East side at the edge of Central Park. There are avail schools nearby and plenty of high quality flats and houses.
Singles show to favour Tribeca or the Meatpacking district because that is where the clubs and bars are.
The financial district is not a great place to live. Midtown is plugged and mainly offices and shops.
