Besides Brother Jimmy's, What's The Best Place To Watch UNC/DUKE In Manhattan Saturday?
Mar 04, 2008 by sigma982 | Posted in Basketball
Gonna be in Manhattan Saturday unendingly, and need to catch the UNC/Duke game. I know about Brother Jimmy's BBQ (all 3 locations)...besides that, what's another UNC or Duke fan hangout...there's GOTTA be a few more. Downtown would be most adroitly, but anywhere in Manhattan is fine...
if you'll be downtown, the village pourhouse is a moderately sweet spot to watch a duke game ~ usually the entire back half of the bar is full of ACC fans..
It wagerer than brother jimmy's because of the amount of screens & the vast selection of beers. the food pales in resemblance, but since the game is on @ 9, i don't think you'll be worried about that.
i unfortunately, will be @ espn zone [blah] ~ i've got my 12 year old nephew coming in to hamper with me. boo. (at least they've got a HUGE screen)

What Is The History Of Ownership Of Manhattan Island, New York?
Dec 07, 2006 by Philosophical Fred | Posted in Renting & Real Estate
I have a moment ago seen a Yahoo question to which several people have responded that the island was bought from the Native Indians for a trivial amount of beads and trinkets (the amounts they make one think vary). I also wonder what happened when ownership of New York (New Amsterdam) was taken over by the Dutch and when it was British. I vacantly recollect a story that the US embassy in London is the only one that is leasehold because the Duke of Westminster will sell the freehold when he gets Manhattan back (I do not understand if this is true).
I am being curious. I tend to the view, also expressed in relation to the question that I saw, that who owns come to rest is who owns it: history has its limits!
it was $24 bucks
