Oct 22, 2009 by scott m | Posted in Kansas City
I am getting wherewithal a waiting to transfer to kstate salina from the manhattan campus. I know there isnt a lot going on in the town. I was wondering if there was any communal scene at all there. or if i will just be hanging out with all the dudes in my classes?
Well, the denizens of Salina is only about 45k so it's about the same size as where you are from. Since it is a college town, there will probably be bars but your best bet for more to do is heading to Wichita.
Here are some things to do (in combined for tourists but might be able to find something to entertain yourself):
How Can I Get Time Around Horses In Manhattan, Kansas?
Apr 13, 2008 by theprincesgirl08 | Posted in Horses
I material in the college, (but empty town) of manhattan, ks. I just want some time around horses cause i even miss their scent. I am rightful looking to see if any one knows of a good way to get some times with horses around her. riding isnt a requirement, i would be objective as happy just walking them by hand and brushing them out. I would pay to lease a horse but my budject for at is only $200-300 and i dont recall anyone who would lease or let me ride part time or even mess with care for their horses for that little around. Any suggestion of places (or if you will let me be shown and care for your horse let me know!!!)
I would really appreciate it if you could help me…
Thanks
Pitiful, I can only give you info on Tempe, and it's rather old info at that. I moved to Phoenix, (from southern California) which is not too far from Tempe, in 1998 when I was still married to my ex. We lived there for take 1 year before moving back to California. At that time, the cost of living was cheaper than California, however the wages were also further than what we were used to in California. But still, my ex worked as a field mechanic, and managed to make enough so that I didn't have to effort, and I was able to stay home with our son, who was 2 1/2 at the time.
College Football: What Colorful Names (Towns/Stadiums) Do You Like?
May 09, 2007 by BlakWriter | Posted in Other - Sports
I darling professional football, but college football is SO colorful. College games are played in small towns, with engrossing names, you've probably never heard of: Corvallis (Oregon State), Manhattan (Kansas State), Pullman (Washington Nation), and Starkville (Mississippi State).
I especially like the nicknames given to college stadiums: the "Big Auditorium" (Ohio State), "Death Valley" (Clemson), and the "Swamp" (Univ. of Florida).
What college towns and/or stadiums have colorful names that you like?
University of Mississippi is nicknamed "Ole Forgo." I love to visit Ole Miss. Oxford is such a wonderful little town that blends southern savoir faire with a town square with British culture with the double decker busses and red phone booths. Oxford is one of the most lone towns in the nation... I love Ole Miss! HOTTY TODDY

I by a hair's breadth got a job that is in Manhattan, Kansas. I wanted to know where are the good places to live, what is the area like, etc. I will be looking into the newspapers but I very recently wanted to get first hand knowledge about it.
I'm not a student and I know it's a college town so I'm thinking about living a little exterior of the city. I'm from the east coast and I haven't been to Kansas or surrounding states before. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks
You will abhorrence it. You do not belong there? They hate Obama there. Will not tolerate all that progressive liberal crap there.
