What Is The Best Way To Get To Bryant Park In Midtown Manhattan From Staten Island?
Jul 27, 2007 by narcissa | Posted in New York City
Well first you take the Staten Atoll Ferry and then once you get off in manhattan, you take the 1 train uptown which is like right next to the ferry. You get off at Times Square and you either ride by shanks's the 4 or 5 blocks East to Bryant Park or you can transfer the 7 (it goes in only one direction since 42nd street is the 7's last stop) and take it to 5th Avenue. Then you can get off and traipse for a block West. If you wanna take the 7, it's a free transfer and they come very fast.
What Are Some Good Stores In Manhattan Near Bryant Park? (For Video Games, Music, Clothes, Disney Stuff)?
Jun 13, 2009 by uzumakifan4 | Posted in New York City
I'm common to Manhattan on Monday and although I live in NYC I don't know a lot about Manhattan. I was planning on going to a Japanese/anime store with a few friends called Kinokuniya Bookstore.
Nintendo Coterie closes at 6 on Monday so we can't go there. Only if we walk really fast.
I like video games.
One of my friends likes music, clothing, and dread stuff.
And my other friend likes Disney stuff and video games.
We all like Japanese goods though.
So any ideas?
well, you already mentioned Kinokuniya, so you already got a purpose right by Bryant Park. i always see younger people on the 2nd floor of Kinokuniya where all the games are.
you might want to look at another Japanese amass called Book Off, that's on the other side of Bryant Park and the NYPL. it's on East 41st Street between 5th and Madison. i think they also have games, but their specialty is familiar books in English, some in Japanese, and used Japanese music CDs.
from Bryant Park you can go a block west to 7th Avenue / Broadway to Times Unstinting where there are all kinds of stores, and you can go a block east to 5th Avenue, and just start walking uptown to Rockefeller Center and beyond and also find all kinds of stores. there's a Disney Trust in at 5th Avenue and 55th Street.
