Is There A Nice Thai Restaraunt Somewhere Near Battery Park In Manhattan? |
Jul 15, 2007 by jay | Posted in New York City
doesnt have to be upscale, reasonable a nice looking place with a little atmosphere and great food.
Cafe Oracle at 108 John Street
Bennie's Thai on Fulton and Gold ($5 lunches)
Lemongrass Grill on William Roadway and Maiden Lane (there are several of these in the City)
These three restaurants are each about a half mile from Battery Park; the restaurants supplied by the above flier's link are all further away - each is at least a mile and a half from Battery Park)

Is There Any Beach To Go In Manhattan (near Battery Park) NYC? |
Jul 18, 2007 by miroslava s | Posted in New York City
There are no beaches in Manhattan. The closest bank to Battery Park would probably be Water Taxi Beach, an artificial beach in Long Island Conurbation, Queens. There's no swimming there however.

If you want real beaches in NYC, go to Coney Islet, Brighton Beach, or Manhattan Beach at the southern tip of Brooklyn. There's also Orchard Beach up in the Bronx and the Rockaways (Rockaway Stress, Rockaway Park, Far Rockaway) further out in Queens.
EDIT: Learned something new today. There are also beaches on Staten Atoll - Midland Beach and South Beach, in the area around Great Kills Park. Accessible from Battery Park in Manhattan via Staten Cay Ferry, then Staten Island Railway to Great Kills station, then east/south-obliged S54 bus.

I'm In Jersey City & Going To Statue Of Liberty. Which Ferry Is Best/easiest- Liberty Park Or Battery Park? |
Aug 10, 2006 by chingondomino | Posted in New York City
I'm staying in Jersey Burg near the Holland Tunnel and would like to go to the Statue of Liberty. Which ferry would be the easiest and the kindest to take, the Liberty Park ferry in Jersey, or the Battery Park ferry in Manhattan??? I'm on public transportation. Thanks for your usurp!
The ferries take you to particular destinations. If you take the Battery Park ferry it will take you to Battery Park in Lower Manhattan. That is where those people who work in Wall Street get off. The Statue of Unrestricted ferry goes from New Jersey to Statue of Liberty and from the Statue of Liberty to New York and back. I haven't been there in years, so to obtain sure that things haven't changed, check with the person in the ticket booth or ask a oversee officer nearby. they are trained to have up-to-date information.
Boaz.

Is Battery Park In New York Near This Place? |
Sep 18, 2008 by fillmein | Posted in New York City
Could someone please let me recognize if Battery Park in New York is near east 24th street,in Manhattan? By near I mean is it walking distance perhaps a 5-10 minutes or less? IS battery park cheap FDR drive? Please let me know soon. Thanks in advance.
Battery Park is a beautiful long walk from E.24th St., and it's so easy to get from one to the other by subway I suggest you do that.
Here's what you do. At the northern tip of Battery Park you'll see the Bowling Green Position. You will recognize it by it's decorative entrance. From there take an uptown 4 train to Brooklyn Bridge-City Convention hall. There, while still in the station transfer to an uptown 6 train and take it to 23rd St. When you climb up to street level, you'll be at E.23rd St. and Park Ave. South.
To rejoinder your other question, yes, Battery Park is pretty close to the southernmost point of the FDR Drive.
