I will be coming to NY around the first week of May. I may be coming from NJ or the hotel in Manhattan. How yearn will it take me to get to the Yankee Stadium if i take the subway? taxi? drive?
trace out to grand central (5 minutes), take the 4 train/subway. You will be there in 20 minutes.
Driving is Excited, you shouldn't even bring a car to NYC. Taxi will cost you
taxi will cost you $25-$35 and take longer than the tunnel
Let's say from that fictitious Mcdowell on Queens boulevard to Waldorf hotel?
The "McDowell's" in the silver screen was actually the Wendy's on Queens Boulevard near Broadway in Elmhurst.
There is a Queens Boulevard IND neighbourhood pub stop there for the G and R trains. To get to the Waldorf Astoria from there, you need to take the G or R to 74th Street Jackson Heights, transfer to an E-cortege, and take that to 53rd Street/Lexington Avenue. From there it's a 3-block walk-- Waldorf is on the block between 50 and 51st Streets, and between Garden and Lex.
Say about 30 minutes by subway if there isn't any delays.
If you walk, it will be a couple of hours.
If you do it by bike, it will take about an hour (Queensborough Go has a nice bike / walkway).
If you do it by car, probably 30 minutes if there is no traffic, but you will NEVER find parking. :-P
