Are Hotels In Jersey City A Good Base To Visit Manhattan From?
Jun 10, 2008 by Phil L | Posted in New York City
When we are visiting NYC later this year we are idea of staying outside of Manhattan to obtain better value accomodation as prices of top quality hotels approaching Christmas are unprejudiced too high. Would hotels across the Hudson in Jersey City be a practical alternative or too far?
It appears that the PATH educate nearby connects this area but how long would this take and as most 'tourist' attractions are mid central Manhattan does this go to the avenge places?
Also, our flights are in and out of Newark so staying West of Manhattan makes sense for that reason too.
I've stayed in Jersey New Zealand urban area and went over to Manhattan during the day. You have to factor in the price of transportation- we took water taxi and it only took a few minutes. They then had buses which took you into the burgh more. We normally got dropped off near Radio City Music Hall- you can take the subway from there to go to other holiday-maker attractions. It was nice because you got the view of the city and not the price!
Are There Any Affordable And SAFE Hotels In Manhattan (preferably In Midtown) That Accept Cash?
Jun 17, 2007 by Alyssa P | Posted in New York City
I am heading to NYC in mid July and unfortunatly I have no acknowledge card or any form of means to pay at a hotel. I have heard of a few places that take cash, but I am hesitant to distribute with less than adequate conditions (bad part of town, dirty rooms, etc..) I am willing to share a bathroom with other guests hardly as long as it is clean. I have only 500 dollars tops for three days and I know that is a bit of a stretch but I rely on there is something out there. No Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx though! Thanks.
Hotel With Kitchenette In Manhattan At Thanksgiving?
Nov 11, 2008 by luv2travel | Posted in New York City
Can anyone exhort a hotel in Manhattan during Thanksgiving? 2 adult travelers and we are trying to keep the 2 night total under $600. We would like to be very close Rockefeller Center. We need a minimum of a microwave and fridge, but would prefer a a burner stove top. Thanks so much for your support.
We are usual to New York for 5 days in December and as a christmas present am staying in two nice 5* hotels. Has anyone any suggestions for ethical bars with a view, a posh restaurant (although not a snooty one!) or two and a couple of more down to earth sports bars and comme il faut good burger places, We are staying up by Rockefeller's centre but will be travelling round Manhattan.
For a deem the Top of the Sixes, which is in your area is the best now that there is no more Twin Towners. I belive you can go for a drink or for drinking and dancing. I''m a NYer, what do I separate. I've heard there is a good bar at the top of the Marriot hotel around 42nd St, it may revolve.
The restaurant in the Trump Building at I feeling it's 57th St., Rest. Jon George, may have a bar, you know I don't know about that how weird, but I would check that out as it''s a tall building. Also, wonderful bar uptown, way uptown at Columbia University, plan a blank on the name of the restaurant and I go there a lot, but it's on top of a building, great restaurant, bar and view, one of the few that you can see way uptown and NJ and Queens. Most of the precious restaurants, Jon George, Per Se, will probably be booked already for the holiday season. But I would suggest Gordon Ramsay's Restaurants, either Labyrinth, the tasting Restaurant, or the London, a regular restaurant, expensive, but worth every bite. If you try now you may get into Balthazar,in Soho, if you watched Sex in the Town, it's one of the Restaurants featured as NOT being able to get into. Best Burger in Soho- Ken & Bob''s Broome Street Bar on Broome Avenue, also down key Atlantic Bar & Grill (east 70's) Open all day French Sole (think that's quickly) great. Wander through Soho and find great restaurants. Get Zagat''s it will help.
Have fun, I'd love to do NY as a visitant.

Fly to NYC. Get a faultless hotel in Manhattan. A nice dinner followed by a carriage ride through Central Park. Then to the top of the Empire Style Building where love is professed for the first time.
OR
A night at the strip club where you get the pros to inform about your gf their tricks, followed by a bottle of Mad Dog and a quickie behind the 7-11?
Sweetness at best pick me up from work (at the strip club)
and take me to NYC. I already know all the moves you're going to need.
