I'm doing some apt. searching and I'm making allowance for the upper west. I'm curious though. Which area tends to have the best quality of the studio apartments?
only manhattan please.
The newer buildings on the far east side seem to have a lot of studio lines, the older buildings in normal have fewer. I much prefer the UWS to anything on the east side, so I suggest that you keep looking up there.

On the move to NYC with work and want to rent a studio or loft in Manhattan, in a good location, just wondering what describe of income level I need to negotiate with my boss as a starting point, in order to at odds with this? (I'd prefer not to live across the hudson)
I have no idea on the cost of rent, utilities and prevalent living in NYC, so if you live in a studio or 1 Br in NYC - what annual income bracket do you feel comfortable in?

I'm a scholar and I want a studio in Manhattan soon, like by the first of the month. I don't know where to start looking and time is dwindling before form starts. I have little to no preferences except for location. I don't want to be really above 120th street.
A studio in Manhattan is flourishing to be $1500 to $2000 a month. Go to your college they should be able to help you find lodging. Go to the student affairs jurisdiction. They know best.
