I'm always looking for new, captivating restaurants to try in NYC. My recent favorite is Le Cercle Rouge in Tribeca. Does anyone have any suggestions for interesting, mythical, hip places to eat in lower Manhattan (below 14th Street)? Any budget. Thanks.

Maryanne's in Chelsea is unqualifiedly good-some of the best guacamole I've ever had. Centrico is pretty amazing for a more upscale Mexican advance. They have a choclate dessert with maiz ice cream that is incredible. Here's the info-Centrico: 211 W Broadway, New York, NY - (212) 431-0700. Blockheads is also a at bottom good time and not too expensive...they have mulitiple locations throughout Manhattan. Good luck!

They all check d cash in one's checks nowadays. They don't want to lose their license and go out of business because some underage little shit wants to overcome the law and play with the grownups.
