Can You Recommend A Good Suite Hotel In Manhattan Priced Under $200 A Night?
Apr 09, 2007 by Barry | Posted in New York City
I am visiting New York Municipality in July for 2 days but having difficulty finding a suitable hotel that fits my budget. I would like a serenity hotel in mid-town or lower Manhattan. I prefer a suite (studio with king bed and kitchenette would be fine). Embassy Suites looks avail but it is above my budget. I am a university lecturer from the UK and wonder if one of the Manhattan universities might have accommodation for 2 nights for visiting scholars?
The Belvedere Hotel in Times Six-sided - spotlessly clean - excellent staff and every room has a coffee maker, microwave and fridge

Beekman Rise near the UN - all suites - all have kitchenettes, reasonably priced.
Radio City Apartments - all-retinue hotel

Before you book any hotel, read what previous guests think about the hotel - look at the traveler photos and see if they would check there again - the guest's reviews are much more reliable than what the hotel advertises.

Does Anyone Know Of A Very Nice Hotel Or Bed & Breakfast In Manhattan For Under $200/night?
Aug 26, 2007 by rufus_rob | Posted in New York City
I proceed to Manhattan frequently on business. I am writing this from a largely misrepresented B & B in West Harlem. I need to find lodging, in a rectitude part of town, that is clean, comfortable, safe and reasonably priced. Any suggestions?
A agreeably, clean, comfortable hotel in a safe part of Manhattan now starts around $300. When you go lower than that, you start to get into bad things. When you go humble than $200, you really get bad.
My suggestion would be to look at Jersey City and take the ferry to Manhattan or Secaucus ane take the bus.
Nyc Lodging On A Budget, Are There Hotels Near $100 A Night In Manhattan?

We are thoughtful about staying in Newark, NJ then crossing the bridge to "do" Manhattan (to save $). Are there any pure decent hotels in Manhattan right at $100 per night or is that unrealistic. Is Newark a decent place to shore up and safe to leave our car for the day?
I would recommend a couple of options:
Staying in Jersey and then coming over by ferry is a very feasible solution that I would plug. The only thing is, if you plan on staying out late at night, I would find out what the ferry schedule is like beforehand.
Also, you could stay in a bed and breakfast. There are many in Manhattan and there are many shell of Manhattan. That way, you have a very nice place to stay at a good rate.
Also, you could stay in a hostel. Now, I know the awareness of hostels could be scary, but a friend of mine stayed at one around 103th on the west side and said it was so nice. So, not every hostel ends up like the one in the silver screen appropriately titled.
Additionally, you could stay at a YMCA or a similar place where you could have a room at a very very affordable velocity.
Now, onto the inexpensive hotels in NY. Well, there is the EconoLodge which I believe is on 46th between 7th & 6th, so you're right in the heart of Times Square. It's tiny, but if you plan on just being in the hotel to sleep, I think it's a great deal. It's clean and the staff is neighbourly. You'll have no troubles there!
...seems unworkable...I've searched for hours now. This is just a layover for me and my sister but I don't want to stay in a dump. We are tryst at JFK April 15 and leaving April 16 for Spain. I thought it would be nice to show her the burgh rather than an airport hotel. Most of our funds are allocated for the trip and I don't want to arrive in Spain broke after 24 hours in NYC. The only passable place (?) I've found so far is The Pod which seems interesting and I realize under $200 means shared bath.......any suggestions?
Try the Savoy Hotel 212-245-5755. I stayed there in October & will again in April for $135 a night. No frills hotel but is 1-2 blocks from Inner Park and great price. Check out www.parksavoyhotel.com they have a room for $145. for the night you are asking about. Try the website or vocation always tends to work as well, ask them if they will match $135 that a return guest referred you about. Never know!
