What's The Difference Between Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens And New York City?
May 21, 2007 by student | Posted in New York City
Are these cities beside each other? Are Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens a part of New York Megalopolis? Can anyone explain this
New York Big apple is made up of five boroughs Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Bronx and New York (also known as Manhattan). In the past, each of these boroughs familiar to be indpendent cities themselves. And New york city was just Manhattan. Some people still refer to Manhattan as "the city". It is now inaccurate to say that. If you go to New york, and people are saying "the city" they are reffering to manhattan which is an island and which is "the heartlessness" of new york city. This is where City Hall is.
Where Exactly Is New York City. And Where Is Long Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Harlem And All Those Places?

Is New york municipality in long island or what.
i know when brooklyn is but where exactly are the big buildings at--manhattan or new york city or brooklyn or where. and where is the statue of liberty. and tick off me more about long island. Does it have a lot of buildings as well or is it regular country life
Three islands break apart together at the mouth of the Hudson River. The largest is Long Island which stretches out along the Connecticut seaside. On the western end of Long Island, two of the five boroughs of New York City meet up with Manhattan Island across the East River. They are Queens and Brooklyn. Manhattan isle is one of the boroughs and it's the one with the skyline. The other island is south of Manhattan and it is the borough of Staten Island. The last borough is truly on the mainland north of Manhattan. That's the Bronx.
All of the boroughs are rather urban, but Staten Island and parts of Queens are perfectly like suburban neighborhoods anywhere else. Brooklyn has a downtown area with some big buildings, and Queens and the Bronx have some urban areas with steep rises as well.
The Statue of Liberty lies in the harbor that is created by those three islands and the state of New Jersey. She stands on a insignificant island in the harbor called Liberty Island. It is closest to the New Jersey mainland, and she stands with her back to New Jersey fa the channel between Brooklyn and Staten Island, the entrance to the harbor from the Atlantic Ocean.
The part of Long Holm that is not in the city makes up 2 New York counties -- Nassau and Suffolk. The area near Brooklyn and Queens is very crowded with suburban around. But as you get farther from the city it becomes more like rural New England.

i'm common around new york city tomorrow and i'd like to see what chinatown is like. i here the best one is in new york but when i looked it up there were 3 of them? Can someone tell me which one is the most predominating?
Manhattan's Chinatown...hands down! The tourists go here...many restaurants, sights.
For Flushing, Queens that neighborhood is called "Slight Korea". That area has a huge Korean population though there are Chinese in that arena (mainly from Taiwan).
Brooklyn's Chinatown in Sunset Park is relatively new, and the influx in that region is from Hong Kong.
