Is It Safe To Travel Back From Manhattan To Queensboro Plaza Station By Subway?
Oct 29, 2009 by Wenwen | Posted in New York City
We blueprint to travel to NYC this Christmas. Since it is so expensive to stay in Manhattan, we decided to stay at Long Island Megalopolis where it's just across the east river. But we might stay late to 10pm or 11pm at Manhattan at night. Is it safe for us to go back to LIC by subway at last night? And is it ok for us to walk to our hotel which is just one block away from the Queensboro Plaza Station? How's shelter around the area? Thank you very much!
And also how about Queens Plaza station?
As I always say, don't dream up so much about the subway itself. Think more about where you have to go after you get off the subway. The subway there will be fine, you're talking about some of the busier lines around. As for the locality around the station, it's OK, but be aware of your surroundings. Not my ideal place to be at 10 or 11 PM, but it's not horrendous. It's OK.
How Much Cost A Taxi From Bus Station 42st Manhattan To JFK Airport?
Dec 26, 2007 by sonyk78 | Posted in New York City
i have to take a split at JFK im comin from Pensilvannia so my bus gonna leave me at bus station 8av and 42st Manhattan and i need transportation to the airport anybody understand what i can do ?
$45 added to tip for the taxi. Whew!
If you're open to other options, you have a few:
A short hike (or subway ride) down 8th Avenue is Penn Station at 33rd Roadway (one stop away on the 1,2,3,A,C,E subway lines). There, you can get the Long Island Condemn Road. Take it to Jamaica (the majority of LIRR trains pass through there), and get the AirTrain to JFK. Fairly energetic trip, might even rival or exceed the speed of the taxi if the transfers are timed just correctly.
Or, at the bus terminal, you can go down and get a Queens-bound E subway ($2); it'll run express through Queens and take you to Jamaica, rectitude to the AirTrain ($5). The E comes frequently enough (every 5 or 10 minutes or so?), and the AirTrain comes every 2 to 8 minutes.
So, you have a few options, let me conscious if you want more info on any of them. Consider time as a factor. If you have a good, comfortable amount of time, I in reality recommend either the E train or the LIRR to the AirTrain. Take your amount of luggage into consideration as well. The mass transit options do have all the predestined ramps and elevators to make it comfortable, though. I've comfortably carried large television cameras on the LIRR and underpass. That said, traveling with luggage to the airport is one of the VERY few situations in which I'd THINK about taking a taxi, though I'd still be very tempted to go scores transit if it was to JFK. LaGuardia's another story.
What's The Easiest Way To Get From Naval Weapons Station Earle, NJ To Manhattan Using Public Transit?
Feb 23, 2009 by Jason | Posted in Military
I'm effective to be at the Naval Weapons Station Earle in Monmouth county New Jersey for about a week. What's the easiest way to get to Manhattan using influential transportation? Are there any rail stations nearby? I checked New Jersey Transit's website, and it was catchy useless as Earle, NJ isn't really a "town", but a military installation. Any hints from any NJ locals out there?
Take the North Jersey Slide Line from Long Branch. You can ride it straight to Penn Station.

I craving to know how to get from Philly to Penn station via rail only. Possibly the cheapest way. Any idea how much it cost?
Thanks
From Philly you dearth to take the Septa R7 train to Trenton. Then in Trenton you change to a NJ transit train (NEC) that goes just to Penn Station in Manhattan. Its much cheaper than Amtrak, about $30 for the total round trip.
