What a lot of people don't produce is that the the first three digits of the ZIP code always lie within one contiguous geographic area (as does the first digit). Any ZIP code birth with 100, 101, or 102 is in Manhattan -- but not every possible five-digit combination within that block is actually in use.
Looking at the first digit alone, by the way, any ZIP commencement with 1 will be either in New York, Pennsylvania, or Delaware.

I animate in Brooklyn New York (11214 zip) and work at Manhattan times-squire area. I am getting ready to buy own board. I would like to move some not too far away and from where I can use MTA ( Public Transportation) to commute to work with 1 hour or little more/less. I am docile to pay $45,000 - $50,000 down payment and rest as monthly payment after calculation. I am looking for 1 family unsocial house with 3/4 bed rooms and at least 2 bath . I will greatly appreciate if someone can provide any suggestion based on own live
or someone who is a pro in real estate.

I'm pathetic, but I don't think you can find a one family house with so little to put down.
I know it seems like a lot to you, but most sellers (and most lending banks) will after you to put down at LEAST 10%, and that would mean that the selling price would be around $500,000. You can't get a house for that amount of money! You'll be lucky to find a cordial apartment for so little these days!
Sorry to give you the bad news. I bought a house for less than that in Park Rise around 7 years ago, but it was on an off block, it needed a TON of renovation, AND I put down more than 50% of the sale price. (I had made a killing by selling my co-op apartment, so I could spare to put a lot down on the house.)
Why not look at apartments, or better yet - rent for a little while more? It really looks like prices could be coming down at bottom, what with the problems on Wall Street and so many people in the financial field losing their jobs. No, it's not allowable for the U.S. economy, but for middle class people in NYC who want to buy homes, it means that real property prices might actually come down a little.

Hi Run off...the City of NY has a great program for first time homebuyers if you purchase in one of the burroughs. It's through a city governement medium called NYC HPD. You can't make more than a certain amount based on household size. But they will help you pay for a downpayment in wither a forgivable lend or grant (free $ essentially). They do require everyone that uses the program to take a homebuyer education realm though. Here's the website: http://www.nyc.gov/html/hpd/html/buyers/ downpayment.shtml
there is also more information on this website as far as the classes, where they are located and homebuyer tips. The classes fill up rapidly I am told.
Also the state of NY has a great program through SONYMA (state of NY mortgage agency) that works all over the state of affairs of NY including NYC. That's what I got when I bought my first home...I am not in NYC. I practiced real estate for 8 years in NY so I like to reflect on a know at least a little about this. Here's SONYMA's website: www.nyhomes.org. They also have income requirements depending on household assay and where you are. They don't require a class. Also make sure you work with a GOOD real estate ingredient and mortgage person. Most of the major banks use the state and city programs like HSBC, Pursue, WAMU, M & T etc. It's a buyer's market so you can really negotiate your price but the mortgage market still sucks. Stoppage your credit reports/scores on your own to make sure there aren't any erroros or if there are any outstanding items that you should be bewitching care of. This can greatly affect your interest rate. The Federal government has made it harder these days to get a clever loan. YOu can thank the shady lenders out there for this one. Try to stay away from subprime loans like 80/20's, interest only or ARMS...another explanation why our mortgage market stinks so badly in the US. Go with a fixed rate, preferrably without PMI (private mortgage warranty) however these are more common if you use a state program. But then again, you do have a good amount of $ to put down and may not even need to use a first time homebuyer program. My ground of NY is much different than yours however. $500k is average for a teeny apartment where here I can buy a huge luxury home with earth! :) Check with your banks and make sure to ask them about any first time homebuyer programs that they come forward. Many banks often offer their programs as well! Be careful how many times your credit is checked as well. Some banks will run it several times...even if you are equitable shopping. I hate that!
I hope this helps! DW
