What Section Of Manhattan Is Madison Square Garden In?
Aug 14, 2008 by Beeg | Posted in New York City
i explosive in south jersey and i'm going to a concert at madison square garden that doesn't end till recent. After the show i will most likely be extremely tired so i dont feel like driving an hour and a half to get diggings. I want to get a hotel from hotwire.com and it asks what section. Is Madison Square Garden in Midtown Pre-eminent, Midtown South or the Times Square/theatre District? Thanks a bunch!
If you click on the "Midtown South" designation on Hotwire, it shows you a map. Their Midtown South extends up to 40th byway someone's cup of tea, so MSG on 32-34th definitely qualifies as Midtown South.
Does Anybody Know If 5th Avenue And Madison-in Manhattan A Safe Place To Visit?

I'm universal there on a vacation with my boyfriend this month...we are both young adults we wanted to book a B&B in that area. We have no hypothesis if that neighborhood is a good one or night....please tell us your opinions on that neighborhood......36 East 126th ( between 5th ave and Madison- in Manhattan.
thanks in benefit for all your help we really appreciated it
the doubtful isn't about 5th and Madison Avenues because they're very long streets that go through many different neighborhoods. the question is what cross street you're talking about, which is 126th Roadway.
well, as another poster has said, 126th Street is right in the middle of Harlem, which is the center of African-American taste in NYC.
in the past it had a reputation for being a dangerous area, especially at night, but things have improved a lot recently. but still, it is a somewhat poor area with scattered pockets of restored and renovated buildings lived in by more centre class people and non-Black people. so the area isn't particularly the most attractive area as a whole, and some people would still be uncomfortable being up there for any duration of time. it's relatively safe in the daytime, and probably seems more dangerous than it really is at night.
the "poser" for you would be that you would still have to walk about 5 minutes in either direction, to take any subway to Midtown or downtown Manhattan (the #2 and #3 trains at 125th Byway someone's cup of tea and Lenox Avenue and the #4/#5/#6 trains at 125th and Lexington Avenue), and Harlem is not inveterately an area with a lot of people out late at night. also, be aware that if you have to take a taxi up there that some cabbies will still find an excuse not to take you there, although it is wrongful to do so.
i would say that if you are not used to NYC yet i'd find a place to stay which is farther downtown in Manhattan and in an already middle class area which you can have a hunch safer walking through late at night, or be in an area that's right in the middle of all the action. if you are more daring people or are used to NYC, then i'd say why not and stay in a Harlem B&B...

I went there on a Sat. nightfall and remember hearing J Bar or J Club but I can't seem to find any info online It was open quite late into the wee hours of the morning and was in a palpable nice white building on the ground floor, like an old hotel.
I feel that's the J-Bar, which is located inside The Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue‎.
