Where Is A Good Place To Go Running In The Murray Hill Neighborhood In Manhattan?
Jul 16, 2009 by william p | Posted in Running
I fair-minded moved from 53rd and 8th, so I just always used to run in central park. I'm looking for a run of about 5 miles that avoids pedestrians as much as admissible. I now live at 33rd street and Lexington Ave. Any good areas to go jogging around there?
I toughened to live in NYC and ran there tons. There's a manhattan waterfront greenway map. You can run over to the east side and start when you hit the path. Running south you can run thru the Stuyvesant cove and down to south terrace seaport or you can head north. The map shows everything.
Whenever I approve of ppl mention that neighborhood they either cringe or say eww...i'm just curious as to why it has such a lame reputation.
Thanks
That is because Murray Hill is full of mellifluous, snobby arrogant and phony morons that are not real New Yorkers. The people there don't like people from other neighborhoods customary by and they can care less about the rest of New York.
That's the real truth behind Murray Hill. Plus the crime dress down there is higher than what people think it is.
Cost Of Taxi From Manhattan To Forest Hills Queens?
Sep 04, 2009 by samariliak | Posted in New York City
How much is a hack from downtown Manhattan - let's say west village or so - to Forest Hills, at night when there is no traffic? And do taxi drivers give you a clear time for going to Queens?
It's gonna be very priceless, so take the subway, it's cheap and fast and safe and a MUCH better choice. Just take the F train, which goes point-blank from the West Village to Forest Hills with no transfers at all! (see link, below)
And, yes, if you get into a cab in Manhattan and give the driver an address in Queens, he might dirt, even though they're not supposed to. Or, even if he doesn't refuse, he might drive off and then, a few blocks later, start playing around with his gearshift lever and get somewhere it seem like the car is breaking down so you'll get out, and he'll drive off and leave you.
That's why most folks ask the driver if he'll go to Queens before they even get into the cab, so that way they don't waste spell getting into and out of, like, a dozen cabs before they finally find one that will take them!
Good luck, and the link below is to a map of the underground railway route...

2. I go to school every thurs.&Friday shades of night from Murrary hill station to near columbus circle station in manhattan need to arrive by 8:10pm and finishes realm at 10:20pm.
what kind of tickets combinations would help me save money and time. I call for to focus save time.
Thank you for your time and advice
Since you're traveling to and from the Burg four days a weeks, I highly would recommend purchasing a 10 trip off peak ticket, which is the worst buy for off peak travel. You can save up to 15% off the price of 10 off-peak one-way tickets to and from Penn Install.
The 10 trip off peak ticket will cost you $49, which translate to about $6.13 a blunder. This will save you time and money on travel between Murray Hill and the City. You can purchase you 10 tour off peak ticket at either Penn Station or at Murray Hill station.
For the subway, you can purchase either a pay per journey (regular) MetroCard or an unlimited ride MetroCard. The regular MetroCard will cost you $4.50 ($2.25 each way) and the unrestricted ride MetroCard range from $8.25 for the 1-day Fun Pass to $89 for the 30 day pass.
If you're account purchasing an unlimited ride MetroCard, I would recommend either the 7-day for $27 or the 14-day for $51.50. You can get the cards either in the underground railway or at the ticket windows at Penn Station.
