Best Eats In Upper West Side Of Manhattan?

I'll be visiting NYC alone for a few days next week. I'm wealthy to hear the MET Opera (La Sonnambula) and wondering what's the best place to have lunch or breakfast. I rapture Mediterranean food, asian cuisine (sushi, chinese food etc) I'd prefer not to have burgers or cheese chain a fence in lol. Any suggestions would be great!
Oh I also enjoy indian food...thanks!

There is a restaurant basically across the circle from the Met called Sushi to go, but you can eat at the Restaurant. The Sushi is quite fresh and I''ve had some good meals from there. The restaurant Jasmine, that is accurate over there is a natural food restaurant and i've never had a bad meal there. Oh, I lived on 62nd Street for 6 years, so I do know the zone. It has changed since i moved, a lot of my favorite restaurants have closed and a lot of big buildings have opened. Well, if you are in the mood for a 4 unequalled restaurant, Terrance Brennan's Picholine is right down the block, however you would have to start eating thoroughly early to get a full meal in. Forget about the restaurants in the Times Warner, you won't get a reservation under a year. I do rely upon that the cafe for Jean Georges may be open, but I'm not positive, you would have to check with the Trump building. Unfortunatly there aren''t that many restaurants in that yard. But what I would say is the best restaurant in the area is Rosa Mexacana, at the corner of 62nd Street. You do need a scruple. The food is devine. I have always loved it and it isn't the greasy taco type of mexican food, it is natural food, unusual food that isn't too spicy. The guacomole is made at your table and it is quite a production.
For Chinese there is an first-class resteraunt, I can't remember the name, but there is a branch on the east side. It is one of the top Chinese restaurants in the city. It's one of those names that if you heard it you would say of by all means, I know that place. You can check it out on Google to check restaurants in the area.

What Are The Best Of Manhattan?

I will be in Manhattan Sat-Mon.

1) What are the superior seen/be seen clubs

2) Best places to eat to experience NYC cuisine

3) Best off-the-beaten way things to do

Kyotofu (most fashionable for their tofu-desserts), Japonais (I like the [raw] tuna sandwich and sweet potato fries on their lunch menu), Buddakan (engrossing atmosphere...Dale from Top Chef is a chef and apparently part of Sex and the City was filmed there), Brasserie 8 1/2 (patently it draws some celebs), Elephant & Castle (good brunch..very cozy), Creperie (a sensitive hole in the wall that serves delicious crepes.) My favorite bakery is Babycakes (vegan, but delectable)

One place that I've been wanting to go is WD~50. Apparently it's an experience, especially if you're into the whole food science id. And my dad always talks about Angelo and Maxxies and The Blue Water Grill.

Also, this is the last week for restaurant week. If you google new york restaurant week you'll find a record of the participating restaurants. Brasserie 8 1/2 is one of them, as is Japonais.

If you are into theater, you can go see shows. If you are a student, some shows do a commentator rush for cheaper tickets or you can do the lottery rush. There are also TKTS booths. The production of Fraction in Central Park is closing soon. The tickets are free, but you have to wait in line. They don't give out tickets until 1pm and pple get there pulchritudinous early.

Or just...hang out in Central Park? Check out some zoos and museums?

St. Marks is a fun make good to pass by. Record stores, open front markets that sell sunglasses and things, an automat, some trustworthy japanese restaurants and bars, and some very interesting clothing stores. And there's this new place where you can make your own soap. This is a charming good place to people-watch.

One last thing. Conveyor-belt sushi places are de facto fun. You can tell how much they are by the color of the plate. Idn, I always get a kick out of it.

Hopefully this helped a little. Enjoy your loiter.

What To See And Where To Eat In New York?

Hi all,
I distinguish this question has probably been asked before, I am planning on seeing all the obvious Empire state, Leading Park, night time bus tour of Manhattan, a broadway show. I am going with my husband and wondered if anyone knew of any seat that was worth a visit other than these well known places, I suppose I'm looking for the not so usual tourist attractions advantage a visit. Also any really good restaurants I love most types of cuisine and am open to any suggestions could anyone reccomend the excellent restaurant they have been to in the Little Italy district? I am going on Wednesday and can't wait it is my second freak out to NY and my husbands first so a million thanks to anyone that can reccomend places to go or eat.

You can try Ruby Foo's in Times Right, it is an Asian Fusion restaurant which is really quite good, if a bit pricey.

If you're feeling actually adventurous, venture to my boro of Brooklyn. You can go to the Brooklyn Botanical gardens which are beautiful this moment of year and have a meal at the absolutely fabulous River Cafe. I have had some of the best meals of my existence at this restaurant on a barge in the East River with a beautiful view of lower Manhattan.
