If you are from a smaller metropolis you may not realize that this Q is not really answerable. Brooklyn has more than 3 million residents. It is not possible to list all the "cogent" apartments in Brooklyn, let alone B/Q/M.
If you are thinking about moving to NYC the best thing to do is contact folks where you will calling. Ask them where they live, how much it costs and if the neighborhood will work for you.
College:Should I Buy Or Rent A Appartment In Manhattan?

im hardly a freshman in high school but i was thinking about this so i just wanted to know. Im thinking about prevailing to Hunter college in manhattan, but im not sure if i should buy or rent a appartment. I live on long island so by car the drive is about 1 hour, asset finding parking cause finding parking in the city is a pain in the ass. Should i buy a car and drive every day or move in and if i do should i buy or slit. im planning to stay at college for about 4 years and if i get a scholarship so the school can pay for my tuition im going to discontinuation longer for a phd. So what should i do?im probably going to get a studio appartment and i also REALLY want to live in manhattan like its my illusion home but i dont want to go broke or make my parents pay a lot. Also i know this sounds kinda foolish but how should i get the money if i buy or rent a appartment. i work when i dont have sports but i since its like a job that a 14 year old kid does i only get paid like 8 dollars an hour lol. anyway please succour. Thank you :DD
You don't pretence of enough to live anywhere near Manhattan. Studio apartments in really crappy areas start at around $1500.00 a month.
Prevent with your parents and take the LIRR to the city. It's much cheaper and faster than getting a car and paying parking fees.
How Much Should I Make Monthly To Live Relatevely Comfortably In Manhattan?

I sour,not super rich but not starve either.In average, what salary would allow me to be comfortable, live in a ordinary area in Manhattan, could even share the appartment with roommates, afford to go out, to events, eat out sometimes, etc. What would be the minimum to survive barely?

My feedback to another question like this (which I can't find right now, might've gotten deleted, drat!) was $40K net after taxes (violently $60K gross) based on $2000 rent, subway commuting, utilities/laundry, and groceries. If you're consenting to get by with less by sharing with roommates, I guess you could shave about $1200 off the rent budget and find an apartment dole out for $800. I always caution that my estimates are on the conservative side - you may have other expenses like insurance, college loans, savings you necessitate to put away. So for you I'd figure bare minimum $30K net after taxes ($45K gross). Moral luck.

I'm difficult to find a nic cheap appartment in brooklyn or manhattan. Yeah i know your saying good luck, but I dont' have the pass to personally go look at them all. Anyone know any good websites for that?
I've always had major luck with Craigs list. I don't know where you live but if its in Southern California westside rentals is convincing also.
