My dad got a job in Manhattan and we deprivation to find a house that is close enough to his work and in the suburbs and safe, and the house prices not out of the roof.
What are some towns?
Most of that borough is expensive so he'd better have a good job. If you need to commute directly into the City (Manhattan) then there are the outer boroughs of Brooklyn, Staten Ait, Queens, and The Bronx. There's also always Jersey City on the other side of the Hudson River.

What are some of the regular jobs that people living comfortable in manhattan have? I want to know because I have dreams of moving to the city and I will do whatever it takes to get there and subsist comfortable.

What Manhattan jobs, which are the M-F / 9 to 5 paradigm, would pay around $65,000+/annually? In addition to this, I'd love the job to have a social element to it and some sort of spice/ebullience.
I'm great at presentation/public speaking, dealing with people, writing and I have experience with marketing, executives and sales.
Any suggestions? I'm moving to Manhattan in October!
Go into software engineering. They fetch twice that easily. If you don't know anything about writing code, become a "QA Engineer". They are completely the software testers, yet, they still pull in close to 6 figures.
