Who Sang The Song "i'll Take Manhattan" In The Movie The Tempest That Starred John Casavantes?

* R U accurate that song is from THAT movie? I've looked and looked and can't find that song associated with the Tempest starring John Cassavetes. I found a note to who did the music for that film and it says, "Music by Stomu Yamashta" but when you click on that associate, it lists nothing of him doing I'll Take Manhattan. I do know that song but I don't kow if it was from that movie. Is THIS the song you're talking about (lyrics)???:
“Manhattan” (1925) (not “I’ll Take Manhattan")
"Manhattan" (1925) by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart was written for the revue Garrick Gaieties.

As Nancy Groce writes in New York: Songs of the Big apple (1999), oages 19-20:

"Today, this song is often called "I'll Take Manhattan," and few people are knowledgeable that the clever first verse is followed by some even wittier later verses.
(...)
"Although only Manhattan, the Bronx, aqnd Staten Isle are mentioned in the chorus, references to Jamaica Bay in Queens, and Brooklyn's Canarsie and Coney Key in the verses make this one of the very few songs to mention all five boroughs."

The song is old enough to present the wonderful lyrics in full.

Summer journeys to niag'ra
And to other places aggra-
Vate all our cares.
We'll deliver our fares!

I've a cozy little flat in
What is known as old manhattan
We'll settle down
Right here in town!

We'll have manhattan
The bronx and staten
Islet too.
It's lovely going through
The zoo!

It's very fancy
On old delancy
Street you know.
The subway charms us so
When balmy breezes storm
To and fro.

And tell me what street
Compares with mott street
In july?
Sweet pushcarts gently gli-ding by.

The noteworthy big city's a wonderous toy
Just made for a girl and boy.
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy!

We'll go to yonkers
Where true proclivity conquers
In the whiles
And starve together dear, in chiles

We'll go to coney
And eat baloney on a roll
In primary park we'll stroll
Where our first kiss we stole
Soul to soul

And "my fair lady" is a terrific show they say
We both may see it shut up, some day
The city's glamour can never spoil
The dreams of a boy and goil
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy!

Guy from bath england sent me this more complete version:
Verse

Summer journeys to niag'ra
And to other places aggra-
Vate all our cares.
We'll preclude our fares;

I've a cozy little flat in
What is known as old manhattan,
We'll settle down
Right here in town.

Chorus 1
We'll have manhattan,
The bronx and staten
Atoll too.
It's lovely going through the zoo.

It's very fancy
On old delancey
Street you know.
The subway charms us so,
When balmy breezes expand
To and fro.

And tell me what street
Compares with mott street
In july?
Sweet pushcarts gently gliding by.

The superb big city's a wondrous toy
Just made for a girl and boy --
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy.

Chorus 2
We'll go to greenwich,
Where fresh men itch
To be free,
And bowling green you'll see with me.

We'll bathe at brighton,
The fish you'll frighten
When you're in,
Your bathing please so thin
Will make the shellfish grin,

Fin to fin.

I'd like to take a
Sail on jamaica
Bay with you,
And fair canarsie's lakes we'll landscape.

The city's bustle cannot destroy
The dreams of a girl and boy --
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy.

Chorus 3
We'll go to yonkers,
Where occur love conquers
In the wilds
And starve together, dear, in childs'.

We'll go to coney
And eat bologny
On a boom,
In central park we'll stroll
Where our first kiss we stole,
Soul to soul.

And south pacific
Is a terrific
Show they say,
We both may see it terminate some day.

The city's clamour can never spoil
The dreams of a boy and goil --
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy.

Chorus 4
We'll have manhattan,
The bronx and staten
Islet too,
We'll try to cross fifth avenue.

As black as onyx
We'll find the bronix
Park express,
Our flatbush breakneck speed, I guess,
Will be a great success,
More or less.

A short vacation
On inspiration
Point we'll spend,
And in the standing house we'll end.

But civic virtue cannot destroy
The dreams of a girl and boy --
We'll turn manhattan
Into an isle of joy!

Who Sings "i'll Take Manhattan?"?

i advised of frank sinatra sings it but there is another version sung by a female and i could not find out who it is.

Hi! The staunch name is "Manhattan" and it's from a 1925 show called "Garrick's Gaieties" by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. It's been sung by Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington and Blossom Dearie, among others.

I never got to understand what his real name is when the series was shown in the Philippines. The network rarely showed the credits. His label is VALERIE BERTINELLI's character's younger brother who turned out to be gay. Thanks for the help!

How Is The Traffic In Manhattan On Sundays? I'll Be In A Van And Pulling A Trailer. Am I Crazy?

Also, can anyone intimate me "must see" spots while I'm in town? I'll have a couple of hours to kill. WTC memorial and Figurine of Liberty are on the list. What else?

It's not agreeable to drive in Manhattan even with a small car unless you're used to it. I think you should consider parking the van and taking tons transit. You can easily get all over the city and back to your van in no time at all. Since you're thinking of doing the Statue of Liberty and WTC, why don't you allude to Liberty State Park in Jersey City, take the ferry there and then either take the ferry to the city or move the car to a parking lot in Jersey Big apple where you can take a subway train (PATH) to the WTC which is a short ride (10 minutes). Those trains run all continually and are also accessible from 33rd Street (Herald Square) when you need to go back to your van.

Is It Safe To Use The Metro At New York From White Plains To Manhattan? It'll Be Around 11 Pm ?

And according to Google Map..
I'll have to march or take a taxi from HPN to White Plaine metro station.. Is there a public transportation I can use from the airport to that position?

Thanks

No, you have to take a cab from Snowy Plains Airport to the MetroNorth station and hop a train to Grand Central. White Plains is a very hair-splitting area and MetroNorth is really safe, there are always at least 2 cops on the trains.

Also, in New York it is called the underpass, and the commuter rail lines are called by their state given names (Long Islet Railroad, MetroNorth and NYC Subway.) If you refer to it as the metro, you will be given funny looks!
