What's The Best Way To Get To Hauppauge, NY (Long Island) From The Upper West Side By Train And Bus?
Feb 06, 2008 by kellzz | Posted in New York City
I have an press conference at 2pm next week in Hauppauge but my hotel in on the Upper West Side. Anybody know any schedules or websites where I can find info on the public transportation between Manhattan and Extensive Island?
ok.......... it's gonna be a dream of ride.
you didn't really give us exact adddresses, so it's up to you to figure out the details.
from your hotel in the "upper west side" take the nyc 1, 2, or 3 underpass train to penn station. at penn station, get off the subway, and find the long island railroad ticket window.
because Hauppauge is not adjacent to a railroad station, you must go to the nearest town, that should be "brentwood". buy a ticket to "brentwood" on the ronkonkoma diversify. other nearest towns are smithtown (but trains are not as frequent).
at "brentwood" you must take a suffolk county bus to your journey's end. you didn't specify where, so go look at this webpage to figure out where you want to go. I say take the S27 because the S27 will take you from the brentwood station to the hauppauge industrial reserve.

if you are not going to the industrial park, welll i suggest you do the following.
1) go to http://maps.google.com and look up your hauppauge apply oneself to.
2) go to this webpage. http://www.sct-bus.org/schedules.html
and look up where the nearest bus that goes there. click on the pdf map and listing to make sure.
3) when you get the right bus number, look at the pdf map/schedule to see if the bus stops at a train position.
4) go to http://mta.info/lirr/html/ttn/lirrtt.htm
and click on the station schedule for that appoint soyou know what train to take
5) and the rest is easy, take the nyc subway from yoru hotel to penn spot, and take that train.
Looking For A Hotel In A Fairly Inexpensive Area That Is Easily Accessible To Manhattan?
Oct 13, 2007 by Curious | Posted in New York City
I'm current to a concert on the upper west side and I was looking at hotels in the area, and the prices are insane! So I was thinking of staying possibly in NJ and taking the train into the city, and then taking a taxi back late at night. How much would a taxi outlay to drive to, let's say Hoboken? Are there other areas outside of Manhattan where I get a decent rate on a hotel room and still be able to take a hackney back? I'm looking to spend $150 max. on the hotel and $50 max. on the taxi ride back. Thanks!
I stayed at the Newark Hilton for $99 a end of day and took PATH to the World Trade Center Station and the subway to the Upper West Side. PATH runs around the clock, or cease operations to it. A taxi ride from Upper West Side back to Newark will cost more than $50.
