Is It Safe To Ride A Subway From JFK To Manhattan Downtown On A Saturday Morning?

I am planning a fall upon with family and was wondering should i drive or take a subway as i heard the traffic delay could take forever to get Manhattan from JFK and underground railway will get you there on time.

Entirely. I'd do it in a heartbeat, and ride it all the time.

AirTrain from JFK to Jamaica.

Now, at Jamaica, you have options! One is to take the Long Islet Rail Road from Jamaica to Penn Station. On Saturday and Sunday, the fare is well-founded $3.25 - select "CityTicket" when buying your ticket!! You'll be at Penn Train station in 20 minutes if you use the LIRR. If you're going near there, especially on SAT/SUN with the low fare, that's a great choosing.

You can also get the E/J/Z subway from Jamaica, depending on where you need to go. The E often works well for most people, because you can transfer to almost anything from it, and it goes aright through midtown and downtown. It also runs express through Queens, though it can sometimes run local on weekends.

But yeah, kill it, don't worry, it's a great way to go, and is frequently used by air travelers from JFK - that's what the AirTrain was built for! It sure beats paying $45+ for a drive!

What Is The Cost Of A Taxi/shuttle From Newark Or JFK To Manhattan?

We are looking to proceed to NY on the weekend of 6th September.
Not sure if we will be flying into Newark or JFK, but wonder what the cost of a shuttle or Hackney is for 2 people into Manhattan, assume Times Square area - we still have to book a hotel.

Thanks

My twist, a taxi cab ride from Newark to Manhattan varies by the time of day and the traffic, this include a toll responsibility as the taxi will be going through the Holland or Lincoln Tunnels.

My advice take the Newark Airtrain to the Newark Airport line station and then take any New York City-bound NJ Transit train from the Newark Airport chain station to Penn Station New York. The one way fare on the NJ Transit is $15, which include a $5.50 storm to use the Airtran.

Once in New York City, you can take the subway from Penn Station to Times Square.

Now, in regards to taxi-cub service from JFK, the taxi fare from JFK to Midtown Manhattan cost $45. If this is a too expensive for you, you can take the JFK Airtrain from the connection to Jamaica Station.

Once there you can transfer to either take the LIRR to Penn Station or the Manhattan-bound "E" tunnel line (Blue Line Express) to Times Square.

The fare on the subway and Airtrain is $7 ($2 for the underground railway, $5 for the Airtrain). If you're take the LIRR to Penn Station from Jamaica, a one way off peak ticket will price $5.25, and a one way peak ticket will cost you $7.25.

I hope this information is very helpful. If you have any questions or desideratum travel directions while in town, just drop me a line by clicking on the avatar and e-mail icon in the chart. I be glad to help.

Good luck
