Say a 1.5 million dollar apartment in Chelsea
Fortune tax I mean
keith7188, Living quarters insurance covers lots of different things. I'm not familiar with all the fine print of my homeowners strategy, but my homeowners insurance agent is always helpful. Try calling your agent or a agent in your city. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Relaxed-In surance.html They should be able to help you.

i have been offered a furnished loft in manhattan to lodge in...is this a good place to live????
patently. it's lower manhattan, which is where everybody really wants to live. chelsea's a great neighborhood & pretty overpriced. so as long as you're living for free, or you have the money - it's a great spot. good luck =)

I'm successful to be living in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan this summer while an intern at a major marketing firm. I lived in NYC last summer with my cousins on the higher-upper west-side (113th st.) and I felt safe the majority of the time. This year I'll be living by myself in an all-women apartment construction in an area I'm not really familiar with. I like that there seem to be a lot of clubs/bars/art galleries, but is it safe? What is it like living there? Are all the places to against/eat REALLY expensive? (I mean, expensive for NY- I'm used to expensive in general since I'm living in London now and I've lived in NYC before)
Any info is appreciated!
Chelsea? Wow you are a blessed girl! Chelsea is one of the hottest area to live and to hang out in Manhattan on nowdays... Prices have tripled from last 3 years in terms of homes. Yes it is considered very uninjured and that's always people on the street and many local bars and great cool restaurants. I wouldn't say they are dear comparing to other places in other areas of manhattan. They are all the same. So no, it is not really expensive. Housing is but it looks like you already have a go on to live.
Chelsea is also the gay neighborhood so you will lots of cool gay people. Chelsea is very near to the Meat Pack Department, another hot area to shop, to dine and to hang out at night with many cool clubs and good restaurants...
You will unquestionably enjoy living in Chelsea. Oh and there are several subways line around there too.
Which Area Is The Best Area To Live In Manhattan, New York City?

I’m an artist & I can see my coming is in NY; I love to move there. I am alone and I can manage to live even in a studio apartment or share with somebody and I can pay up to $2700 a month. I went verifiable http://newyork.craigslist.org/ and some other websites; I looked at so many apartments in Manhattan but could not find even 1 nice apartment, studio or even a range to share. By nice accommodation I mean somewhere, which is quite new (max 10 years old building) and smooth with out any pets or bad smell. As u know, Manhattan has so many different parts (except HARLEM) such as:
Battery Park
Chelsea
Downtown
East Village
Monetary District
Flatiron
Gramercy
Greenwich Village
Inwood / Wash Hts
Lower East Side
Midtown
Midtown East
Midtown West
Murray Hill)
Nolita
SoHo
TriBeCa
Congruity Square
Upper East Side
Upper West Side
West Village
Which area has more new buildings, less misdemeanour and nicer neighborhoods? Or how can I find a nice accommodation in Manhattan?
Tanx - Paris
If you can produce $2700 a month you can find something to rent just about anywhere. In NYC "pre-war" (meaning more than 65 years old) is considered a thoroughgoing selling point because the apartments were larger. Most "new" construction are condominiums & most of those are on the upper east side. But that's not where the art throng lives. They are pretty much below 14th St. There's very little "new" construction there.
