I tried affluent to Chase bank (the bank my employer uses and the bearer of the payroll check) - but they sweepings to cash the check unless my company has an agreement with them.
Let's assume opening a new bank account is not an privilege - what are my other options that are easy to get to in New York, NY?
I have gone to a check cashing place before but they charge 7% which comes to like $175 which I am not agreeable to pay to get my check cashed.
Chase seems to be the exception....from what i have gathered about them and their payroll accounts that checks are fatigued on, the company issuing the check has to pay for the service to allow employees to cash checks.
I verified this with the HR reckon on and they said there was an extra fee from Chase and that checks couldn't be cashed directly at the bank unless you as far as one is concerned had an account to cover the check.
I tried speaking to different branches in my area and got the same spiel...air an account and you can cash this check....

I decipher that Walmart cashes checks for max $3, closest one is Seacaucus - I guess I need to find a bus that goes there from Haven Authority.
go to a personal chase bank. if their name is on the check, they have to cash it.
Hi! I want to cash a personal check in Manhattan. It is my only way of getting cash until Friday and I *need* to get myself a metro card. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to find a cut down to size near Grand Central or Hudson and West Houston. Thanks!
does your bank have a ramification there ? that would be the best. the other option is if you are a hotel guest, sometimes banks will grant you the courtesy of cashing a unextravagant one.
