Which Area In Manhattan Has The Best Studio Apartments?
Jul 15, 2008 by olympus | Posted in New York City
I'm doing some apt. searching and I'm insomuch as the upper west. I'm curious though. Which area tends to have the best quality of the studio apartments?
only manhattan please.
The newer buildings on the far east side seem to have a lot of studio lines, the older buildings in broad have fewer. I much prefer the UWS to anything on the east side, so I suggest that you keep looking up there.
What Is The Best Site And/or Search Agent To Find A Manhattan Apartment Under 1350?
Mar 17, 2007 by starspotlight1985 | Posted in New York City
I am impelling to Manhattan at the end of the summer and looking at apartments. I know I can't seriously look until a month or less before the move. I have searched Craigslist. Are there any other sites that I could search? Thanks!
Manhattan for under 1350? You dont yearn for to live in a nice apartment or a nice neighborhood do you? That really is a serious answer too. If you want the most bang for your buck, find out out apartments in the park slope section of brooklyn. You'll get alot more space and cheaper rents, along with a more safely a improved neighborhood for what you'll pay for a shoebox in Manhattan. And its a short commute to Anywhere in Manhattan.
Remember Jerry Seinfeld's Apartment Set On Seinfeld. How Big Is That Compared To Real Apartments In Manhattan?
Apr 24, 2009 by PER92 | Posted in New York City
People say affordable apartments in Manhattan are matter-of-fact. I'm just curious how they compare to the Seinfeld apartment seen on the show.
There are two things you have to upon:
1) Seinfeld was fantasy, nobody wants to watch a TV show set in 600 sqft studio apartment over a Chinese restaurant. His "apartment" was a seemly size for Manhattan.
2) Seinfeld was filmed in the early 90s, back then, rent was far less than what it is today. His apartment in the 90s might have gone for $1,800 or so.
Today, that same apartment, a one bedroom, elevator edifice, intercom system, would probably start at $2,700—and that's if you're lucky.
My apartment is in the Upper West Side, 2,200 sqft, two bedroom elevator, doorman, intercom, retiring terrace and private video surveillance, on-site gym, and it's $4,200 a month to give you an idea of unceasing Manhattan rates.
Depending on what you're willing to sacrifice, which part of Manhattan you're willing to live, and how hard you look (I'll be creditable, I didn't spend near as much time as I should have viewing and looking at apartments), you could find an apartment for much less. However, finding anything under $2,000 that isn't in the projects is a Bit of good luck.
Can Anyone Point Me In The Direction Of A Good Website To Find Info On Apartments In Manhattan?
Nov 27, 2007 by Mike H | Posted in New York City
I've tried craigslist, apartments.com, apartmentfinder.com and some others and they don't seem to have a ton of options. Can anyone assistance me find a service that specializes in Manhattan or NYC? Thanks.
Individually from those services you mentioned, the only option would be with a real estate agent. Unfortunately it is about as hard to find a favourable apartment in Manhattan as it is to hit it big on Broadway.
Realtors are notorious for snatching up listings and securing prime apartments to bibliography.

I am looking to find a 1BR in the Best areas of ($2800 Trade mark Aga)Manhattan.Soho,Nolita,West Village & East Village.I know they are expensive & New York apartments downtown are very pocket-sized but I do not want to use a company like Citi habitats and pay a 15% fee.I do not like may of the things I have been shown and all the big companies seem to have the same listings or have apartments in areas like Murray Hill,Midtown and capitals East which i am not interested in & are very old and run down .Can anyone reco a good company or owner?
There is an ingredient I know who works for a large management/company brokerage. Most of what he has a bunch of units downtown and anything they own has no fee.Brokers will show you the same apartment and concern you a fee.I have referred a bunch of friends of mine to him and most of them found something in a day or two.His email is Jmccloy@9300realty.com
