How Does A Girl Act Who Was Born And Raised In The Village (in Manhattan)?
Apr 01, 2008 by Mrs. Bobby | Posted in New York City
I'm straight wondering how a girl in her 20's might carry herself if she was born and raised in the Village, in New York City? Do they have a symptomatic about their personality that makes them special or stand out?
Thanks :)
You are doing this for a part in a treat cavalierly? A story?
Let's see..... how about: she has a mind of her own ~ could care less about what others are thinking ~ follows her own drummer, wears leg up-made jewelry ~ like sterling silver with real stones ~ and wears ethnic clothes and in all likelihood expensive ones at that, wears great perfume oils, wears no make up except a lot of kohl eyeliner, and does not caution for
an "uptown" look and probably does not work
in an office where nylons and heels are the affair .... reads books (probably "Siddartha" / Herman Hesse), has been on a tumble to the Himalayas and is into Eastern religion, Indian curry, burns incense at home, goes to strange films, art galleries, has friends who are painters and poets...... will that help???
Heheh ... this is almost a stereotype !! But, dialect mayhap it will work.
Do You Have To Be Semi-rich To Live In The Village (section Of Manhattan), New York City?

I was born and raised in Midtown Manhattan and have recently visited the Village and ate at a pleasing French restaurant called The A.O.C.. I fell in love with the Village instantly and would like to know what kinds of jobs the people clout, who live there, and what types of salaries they are on in order to live in the Village.
Also, how much is the average rent of a niceeee apartment there?
What is the norm price of an apartment to buy in the Village too?
In my building in Midtown Manhattan, the cost to buy an apartment on average is between $750k-$850k, sometimes more or degrade, around $300k.
I am 17 and am very curious because I am looking to major in either Finance or Accounting in college and would like to skilled in if a job in those fields (in N.Y.C.) would support a life in the Village.
Any help/information would be great!!!
Note*: Please, only answer if you or someone that you conscious live/used to live in the Village.
Thanks!
You can and should stoppage rental and sales prices yourself on newyork.craigslist.org; the Sunday New York Times also prints many ads for apartment sales. A 1BR apartment in the leading part of Greenwich Village will run you at least $2000/month, probably more like $3000. To buy, a similar apartment will tariff at least $600,000. With a finance degree you may be able to get a Wall Street/investment banking job and supply that sooner rather than later. You might also consider the East Village, where prices are generally lower.

where is the village that people talk about. Is it St. Marks grade? ? And where is all the good shopping places that are in the village?
I hear its by NYU, right?
Is all the shopping places by all the clubs? If so where is that?
please give byway someone's cup of tea names and numbers.
or what train can take you there
Thanks.
"The village" is "Greenwich Village" it's the neighborhood that makes up about the southern clemency of Manhattan. There's no specific street, just the general lower west side. NYU's main campus is part of that, yeah. They're located next to Washington Square Park, which is on 8th Street and 5th.

I'm not stable if they allow a person under 18 to get a tattoo? I know they definately let someone under 18 to get piercings since I did get 2 piercings already but I never asked about tattoos since I wasn't interested a few months ago. I don't hankering to make the trip to be disappointed. If you know, Please let me know.
Any concern that would allow a minor to get a tattoo is not a place that you want to frequent. Tough it out and wait until you're 18.

You can seal off in an address or landmark and MTA will tell you the train or trains you will need to take, how long the ride is and where to get off. It also tells you where to pad to once you arrive at the final station.
Have a good time!

Found this fop on Mercer St. as I walked from NYU downtown. Love the sign in the top right (and the graffiti, which I don't endorse by any means, also looked somewhat cool.)
