hi, i have a away back to san diego tomorrow night leaving La Guardia Airport in Queens at 6:00 pm tomorrow tenebriousness, but want to tour the city of manhattan as latest as possible and still be safe to make it to the airport in period for my flight. When should i hop on a subway to La Guardia to insure im safe? thank you!
NYC commuting can be hellish in the evening when people are demanding to get home. I would give myself at least 2 hours to be safe especially because there is no train that takes you directly to Laguardia. Also, with all the inconveniences, stops, and other incidents, you don't yearn for to jeopardize missing your flight.
You might wanna take the 2,3,4 or 5 uptown to 125th Street and clip the M60 bus to Laguardia.
Is It Safe To Ride A Subway From JFK To Manhattan Downtown On A Saturday Morning?
Apr 26, 2009 by All in A-Z | Posted in New York City
I am planning a assail with family and was wondering should i drive or take a subway as i heard the traffic delay could take forever to get Manhattan from JFK and subway will get you there on time.
Of course. I'd do it in a heartbeat, and ride it all the time.
AirTrain from JFK to Jamaica.
Now, at Jamaica, you have options! One is to take the Long Archipelago Rail Road from Jamaica to Penn Station. On Saturday and Sunday, the fare is a moment ago $3.25 - select "CityTicket" when buying your ticket!! You'll be at Penn Status in 20 minutes if you use the LIRR. If you're going near there, especially on SAT/SUN with the low fare, that's a great choosing.
You can also get the E/J/Z subway from Jamaica, depending on where you need to go. The E often works well for most people, because you can transfer to almost anything from it, and it goes right through midtown and downtown. It also runs show through Queens, though it can sometimes run local on weekends.
But yeah, ride it, don't worry, it's a great way to go, and is frequently in use accustomed to by air travelers from JFK - that's what the AirTrain was built for! It sure beats paying $45+ for a taxi!
