How Much Would A Cab Ride Cost From North Bergen, NJ, Tonnelle Ave To Manhattan?

Planning to go to NYC but can't grant hotels in Manhattan. Other questions:
Is North Bergen safe?
How long would the drive be from the hotel to Manhattan?

How much would a cab do in cost from North Bergen, NJ, Tonnelle Ave to Manhattan?
-A minimum of $30 plus $8.00 ($6.00 off-peak with E-ZPass) in tolls. If you hit compact traffic, that could double to $60 or more.

Is North Bergen safe?
-Yes! I had friends who liked and lived there until they could in trouble with to move to Long Island. Weehawken isn't too far away as well and is 5 minutes away from NYC via ferry.

How long would the ride be from the hotel to Manhattan?
-Normally 30 minutes but if you have traffic, it could take up to an hour. If you're in a taxi, you'll be throwing your coins away on waiting time unless the driver is nice enouh to give you a flat fee.

Tips:
Public/Tommy Shuttles to cut taxi fare.

Weekhawken NJ hotel. Is it cheaper than yours in North Bergen? If so, for $5, you can be back in NYC on the ferry.

What Are Towns W/ Great School Districts In North Jersey? And A Quick Commute To Manhattan?

Our relations is considering moving to NJ but both of us work in Manhattan. We are interested in knowing what the best school districts are in North Jersey. The more details, the wiser. Any thoughts?

Well, it's unspecifically acknowledged that the towns all along the north side of Route 4 on the Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge are lovely towns with yard goods schools, and they're only about 30 or so minutes from Manhattan!

So, look into Tenafly, Teaneck, River Edge, New Milford, Oradell, Dumont, Paramus, Average Lawn, etc., etc., etc., and the further north of Route 4 you go, the more "upscale" it is, all the way up to Alpine, which is the most expensive suburban borough in the USA, with average home prices starting at 4.4 million!!

South of Route 4 it's cheaper, but let's nothing but say, "You get what you pay for," and leave it at that.

Good luck, and the link below is to a map of the area...

How Do I Get From Yonkers To Manhattan Without Taking The Metro North?

How can i get from yonkers to manahttan without having to use the metro north (it would put away me so much money if I could just use my metrocard)? I live at Gramatan and Palmer and it is on a Bee Line route (the 30 I of). Is there any way I can take a series of buses to get to a subway station (maybe the woodlawn station?) so I can bypass the metro north?

if you can get to the 20 bus it takes you to the 4 discipline which goes to the city. but does that really save that much money? it is 2.25 for the subway and i remember 2.00 for the bus. is metronorth really that much more money? I know from woodlawn i bought a 10 trick pass for 42.50 so its only 4.25 to get to grand central.

Is There Anywhere To "park And Ride" Into Manhattan Coming In From The North On Hwy 278/95?

I am planning on driving into NYC/Manhattan from New England strand but I am unfamiliar with the area. I really hate the idea of driving into Manhattan and paying exorbitant fees precisely to house a stationary car. Any ideas of a safe and cheap/free place to park and bully into the city? Thanks.

Very very mild. Any Metro North Station has ample, safe parking and a direct train either to Harlem or to Complete Central Terminal. I would pick up the train somewhere in Westchester County, not Connecticut. Most of them are directly off of the interstate, so theres honestly no need to travel that far off the highway.
