my hubby heard that higher westside in manhattan have many of this qualities.any opinions??
$3,200 is a very nugatory budget for Manhattan for that size apartment. You'll get a lot more for your money and get the more "family friendly" medium if you looked into Brooklyn, as an example of even across the Hudson in New Jersey (Weehawken or Jersey City even Hoboken) which is only a 20 split second subway ride to anywhere in the city. Upper West Side is nice (I used to live at 58th and 9th) but you'll lay out a lot for the sort of place I think you're looking for.
Apartments also go very quickly and you'll have to literally be there to get it (checkbook in manual labourer on the inspection day). People line up for the good places in NYC. Sorry to be the bearere of bad news but it's very obdurate...good luck!

Apartment In Manhattan's Chelsea 227 West And 17th Street....?
Jul 07, 2008 by Ellen | Posted in New York City
i have been offered a furnished loft in manhattan to alight in...is this a good place to live????
to be sure. it's lower manhattan, which is where everybody really wants to live. chelsea's a great neighborhood & easy on the eyes expensive. so as long as you're living for free, or you have the money - it's a great spot. good good break =)
Me and my acquaintance are both going to attend NYU and we are looking for a loft to rent in Manhattan. I found a two bedroom that's partly furnished for 2,835 a week. Is that too much? My bedfellow and I are going to split the rent 50/50.
It depends on the neighborhood. There are parts of Manhattan where $2,835.00 a week is sane (well, perhaps not reasonable, but not surprising at least). Manhattan is one of the most expensive places to live in the USA. The average price for a studio apartment in Manhattan is almost $2,000.00 per month. Anywhere close off to NYU won't be cheap. If you want something affordable, look in Queens or Brooklyn (far out in Brooklyn).
Hi, I'm Looking For Studio Apartment In New York To Rent For 21 Days During The Winter Break?
Jun 02, 2008 by MD | Posted in New York City
I need a go up in the world to live for 21 days during the winter break. I'm looking now because it's very hard to find and I do not want to have to rest outside again. It should be a nice studio, CLEAN, with small kitchen and furnished, and not too expensive because I'm still a poor schoolgirl. The place could be in Manhattan, Queens or few parts of Brooklyn. I would appreciate all ideas and responses. Thank you all
