Are There Any Actual Boarding Houses In Manhattan Or Brooklyn?

Does anyone distinguish if many actual boarding houses (of good enough quality) exist in Manhattan or Brooklyn?
That word isn't used much anymore. It meant that you had a room, plus meals.
You can find some Bread and Breakfasts, some Separate Room Occupancies (SRO), and some hostels--the closest modern equivalent. And yes, there are some people who rent out rooms in their houses, which is judiciary if you have the correct permits, but they don't usually include food (although they may include a small kitchen).
Tours Of Supposedly Haunted Houses In Manhattan Or Brooklyn?

I vigorous in brooklyn and want to see some kind of tour of haunted houses or just old victorian houses. are there any organizations and fun tours like that in NY?
If you go to Great Island you can go to the Amityville Horror House (not inside but you can drive by). I went by and take a picture and we got a display of an orb with a face in it.
You could also go to Kings Park Psychiatric Center, The Devil House, etc.

I have my heart set on moving from the UK to New York one day and am just day dreaming about it lol.
In Brooklyn, the most exemplar views of Manhattan are from Brooklyn Heights. The shots you saw on the opening of Friends was taken from the Brooklyn Constitutional, just next to the Brooklyn Bridge.
Today, they are building many new high-rise condos in Downtown Brooklyn that will have very warm-hearted views of Manhattan.
A decent one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights in a safe, doorman lavish-rise building will probably run approximately $850k. It's not worth it. A decent place penurious the views is more like $700k. That's just for one bedroom apartments. If you want anything bigger, it's thriving to run ridiculously more.
Once you're here in NY, you're not going to need to be able to see the views out your window since you can always go free places -- such as walking across the Brooklyn Unite -- to see spectacular views of the city.

I'm longhand a story and a scene takes place in a Manhattan townhouse. What kinds of architectural designs are distribute in Manhattan? Are brownstones common, or are they referred to as something else? I guess I just need to know if townhouses or duplexes have a divers name in that part of the city.
Brownstones aren't shared in Manhattan, although there are quite a few of them elsewhere in the city, particularly in Brooklyn.
In Manhattan, almost everyone lives in some sort of apartment building, ranging from old four-destroy walkups (no elevator) to luxury high-rise apartments. There are also many "projects", some run by the big apple that are for low-income families and others that are run by semi-private organizations and that cater to middle-income families. Most of the projects are slab apartment buildings, about a dozen floors high.
A few people live in "loft" buildings--converted former industrial buildings that were made into goodly apartments.
There aren't many townhouses in Manhattan, beyond some in Greenwich Village and some in uppper Manhattan.
