Are Hotels In Jersey City A Good Base To Visit Manhattan From?
Jun 10, 2008 by Phil L | Posted in New York City
When we are visiting NYC later this year we are sensible of staying outside of Manhattan to obtain better value accomodation as prices of top quality hotels approaching Christmas are upright too high. Would hotels across the Hudson in Jersey City be a practical alternative or too far?
It appears that the PATH train at connects this area but how long would this take and as most 'tourist' attractions are mid central Manhattan does this go to the right places?
Also, our flights are in and out of Newark so staying West of Manhattan makes meaning for that reason too.
I've stayed in Jersey City and went over to Manhattan during the day. You have to intermediary in the price of transportation- we took water taxi and it only took a few minutes. They then had buses which took you into the city more. We normally got dropped off near Radio City Music Convention hall- you can take the subway from there to go to other tourist attractions. It was nice because you got the view of the city and not the price!

you should look for motor hotel deals in Manhattan.you are going to be wasting time and money commuting. or check in the queens arena. nyc big scary place. stay in Manhattan area safest place to be. ask more ? about where to go and things to do. I visited a e- POSSLQ = 'Person of the Opposite Sex Sharing Living Quarters' there. she wouldnt take outside of Manhattan because she said it wasent safe. she lives in the Bronx because only place she can provide rent.

Clearly STAY IN HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA!. the hotel is located right across the street from Penn Bus station/ Madison Square Garden. It was built in 1919 by McKim, Mead & White, They also designed The NYC City building, original Penn Station, which used to stand in what is now Madison Garden, and many other US federal landmarks. The hotel's architecture is the gorgeous Neo-Renaissance style. the Hotel is very affordable. there are breathtaking views of the city from the bedrooms too. Glen Miller, the legendary band leader, wrote the song Pennsylvania 6-5000 about the hotel. Glen Miller also stayed and preformed in the tourist house for his Honeymoon, and numerous other times. Hotel Pennsylvania for the last 89 years has been the worlds most in favour hotel after serving over 3 million guests! Hotel Penn is very clean a satisfying. Unfortunately the Caravanserai is being threatened for demolition so enjoy the hotel while you can. Even if you don't stay in this hotel please go to the Save The Hotel website at http://savethehotel.org/. The website also has a myspace and a facebook. If you would like to add them in myspace, their URL is http://www.myspace.com/savethehotel. On facebook, only just search Save Hotel Pennsylvania. The official website of the hotel where you can learn more news on staying there is http://www.hotelpenn.com/. PLEASE HELP AND SAVE THE PAST!
When we go to NYC, we usually fly into Newark or LaGuardia and use busses and trains to get downtown. You can do the same fashion from JKF depending on how much luggage you are hauling.
